Concealed Carry Holster

New to the forum. How about suggestions for a carry holster? I live in Texas, so most of the time it's short sleeve shirts.

How about sources?

Welcome to the Forum PUCCINI5. I personally like The Answer from Tucker leather for the IWB. For OWB holsters I like pancake holsters from Tucker or other better leather company. You do get what you pay for. Good luck on finding one.

A Tucker "Texas Heritage" holster works for me.

Mine is sized for a 3" 1911, but it also works equally well holding a Browning High Power. Fortunate on my part, but not a general rule; the holsters are "made for the model," and model cross-compatibility is the exception rather than the rule when it comes to the better holsters.

The Milt Sparks "Versa Max II" is also highly-recommended by a number of folks. Although I don't personally own one, I've seen too many glowing recommendations to not include it.

Look around, see what's offered, and see what gets the best reviews. Then, start trying holsters.

I've had a Brommeland MaxCon V for my 3" 1911 for about a month now, and I've been loving it.

It's an inside-the-waistband (IWB) holster, and it sure keeps this pistol nice and close. I'd recommend one, but just beware the wait times for most custom holsters!

Milt Sparks makes a good holster. I hear Tucker does, although I've never owned one.
I lean toward the kydex, and I've been happy with CompTac's customer service.

They are 19.95, but if you are in Dallas you can get them from AJAX grips for $14.95. Ajax also ships, so it is still cheaper from AJAX. Some folks do not like them, I for one enjoy it on my Glock (Don't Tell Longtooth I have one - he would be dissapointed in me). Let the railing of saftey begin. . .
