Deer meat and portion control helped me lose 40 pounds last year. I gained 7 pounds back because I feel like I lost a little too much. Just remember when you lose weight a trip to the department store is in the future.

I'm in...

Lost 20 pounds two years ago but I've slowly added about 10-12 of it back on. I lost mine using portion control and walking ~3mi. 3-5 times a week. My goal is to go from 200+ to just under 190. That should be enough to help the IWB fit a little easier and I know that I'll feel better. :chldancing

I lost 5 pounds yesterday!!!!

Bought a new scale. :biggrinjester:

Our old scale was very old and analog... This new digital one is much nicer, and... it shows that I'm 5 pounds lighter than I thought. haha
I'm still going to try and lose 10 pounds though.

Weighed myself today.. Lost 3 lbs. Mostly due to my mother-in-law's cooking. Filippino food takes some getting used to...badly cooked Filippino food makes me loose weight. LOL

Fours weeks in and I've lost a total of 5 lbs. Not exatly what I was hoping for but since I spent the past week recovering from an illness I'll take it.

Awesome! I was about to check in here too. I've lost 4 lbs since Jan 1, which I'm happy with because I was only trying to lose .5 pounds per week based on my calorie intake. I think cutting out the fully leaded sodas has been the biggest contributor.

That's a lot per week. Just from diet change? Do you exercise a lot already or something?

The best diet I found was NutriSystem. A couple years back I lost 50 lbs on it and have kept it off.

I am now a pesco-vegetarian. the only meat I eat is fis with the very occasional piece of beef. About 1 steak
every 6 months or so.

As a result my cholesterol has been running about 130 with all the other numbers being almost perfect.

About 19 years ago I had a heart attack and about 5 years ago I was diagnosed as a borderline diabetic.

Today everything is totally under control. I am 70 and hoping to live to see 71. :anamatedbanana

Alright, I'm in again.

Last fall, I decided to get serious once more. Started at 242 and set a goal of 232 by Christmas and beat it by 2 pounds. Didn't gain any weight over Thanksgiving or Christmas, but slacked off a bit after the New Year and am back at 232. My goal for my birthday in May is 212, and hopefully 200 by the end of the year.

I don't have any real desire to get all buff (it would be too hard to keep all the ladies away! :smilelol5: ), but it will be nice to get back into some 34 waist jeans once again. I'm already seeing the 36s getting a bit looser and the 38s have been gone for a while.

No real big changes in lifestyle - just more exercise, smaller portions and no late night snacking binges. An almost exclusively venison diet helps with that quite a bit.

How much soy is in their prepared foods? I've heard about them and on rare occasion thought I might give them a try, but my biggest concern is soy is SO common, I'm afraid I would have a problem with their products. (I'm allergic to soy.)

Nearly all of the Nutrisystem foods have soy. I have been off of that diet for quite a while now. That may be something you can call them about. Maybe they have alternatives. All I know is that it worked well for me.
