ghentry, I don't take it as a personal attack at all! In fact, I appreciate your advice, and quitte frankly find a lot of logic and reason in your words. Thank you. I think you are correct about how a CHL should and should not affect me. I cannot disgree with you on any point.

Thanks!

One thing to note however: The Arby's Big Montana is quite a tasty sandwich. Perhaps head over to Westeimer and Shepard for one. Actually as I see on their store locater, you are lucky to have one right there in Kety at 1235 Fry Rd!!!! Lucky dog, you

Man you sound like my teenage sons. They seem to relate all fond memories to food.

Remember when we went to see Uncle George? Man he had the best hamburgers...and Uncle Rick had those cinnamon stick things... mmmmm

A double meat/double cheese with jalapeno's Whataburger is puredee heaven for a man jonesin' for a snack. WhataBurger is a true Texas institution too, born in Corpus.

When I took my CHL class the instructor was talking about a mall he went to that had three of the four entrances posted. As he said, "Guess which entrance I use?" :)

An added bonus is if that entrance (or store) has a camera at the entrance so you can prove you came through that entrance.

[quote="ghentry"]In my opinion, you need to view your CHL as just one more tool to help keep yourself safe.[quote]

You make a very good point sir...

Its a tool, but it also comes with a lot of responsibility and more important "accountability"...

Someone told me once that every bullet that comes out of your "gun" has a lawyer attached to it...

I have also learned that it is important to keep up to speed on the issues we face as "responsible" citizens...

This and other forums are "tools" as well...

I am very humbled when I can sit down and partake in the discussions and read all the good stuff coming from everyone who thinks like I do when it comes to issues like this...

Borrowed this from packing.org

Good thing they post malls and keep law abiding citizens out.

Two Stabbed at Bethesda Department Store
Updated: Thursday, May. 26, 2005 - 4:31 PM

WTOP's Veronica Robinson was on the scene just after the stabbings Wednesday night.

BETHESDA, Md. - Police are calling the stabbings of two women at an upscale department store a "random act."

Antoinette Starks, 48, of Greenbelt, Md., is expected to make her first court appearance Thursday afternoon.

She is charged in connection with the stabbings at the Nordstrom in the Westfield Shopping Center, formerly the Montgomery Mall.

Police say she is charged with three counts of attempted second-degree murder, three counts of reckless endangerment, three counts of first-degree assault, three counts of second-degree assault, two counts of attempt to carry a concealed deadly weapon with intent to injure, two counts of carrying a concealed deadly weapon with intent to injure.

She is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center on $1 million bond.

Montgomery County Police say the stabbings happened shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Police recovered the weapons used in the attack. They recovered two large butcher knives that were taped together at the handle, as well as two other knives.

One victim, a 24-year-old Bethesda woman, remains hospitalized in fair condition. She was stabbed in the abdomen and upper back and had some defensive wounds, police tell WTOP.

The first victim was stabbed while in the customer service department on the third floor during an argument. A 48-year-old Potomac woman is in stable condition. She was stabbed while going down the escalator. Police say a 21-year-old from Rockville, who was chased by the suspect, escaped without injury. That person was treated and released from a local hospital after an asthma-related attack brought on by the incident.

The suspect was arrested in the shoe department.

"Everybody just ran all different directions -- screaming," says one customer who was in the department at the time.

This post seems to be from 2005.

I went by Sharpstown Mall today and it appeared to be closed. There may be some stores that open outwards that are still there and open. The parking lot was essentially empty.

Is there a message here somewhere.

I could 't disagree more with the notion of one's "right" to strip me of my right to defend myself and family in a business that invites the general public. A fear of asthma inhalers or hearts meds is just a rediculous as fear of lawful carry; should they have the right to deny that means of self preservation. Restriction of lawful carry is a dangerous means of discrimination based on fear and ignorance and should never be "respected", "celebrated", or "recommended". I mean, the campus carry bill was about stripping the "rights" of the universities to restrict lawful carry.

I recall going to the grand opening, the Gaylinn theater was so fancy everyone had to dress up to go to the movie, the pretty carpet had me in awe. (Of course these were the days people parked roadside by Hobby Airport to watch planes all afternoon for entertainment)

Yeah. I know, the whole area is different now.
