Newbie intro/ CHL status question
Hello gentlemen/Ladies, I am new to the site and are in the process of getting My CHL. It is definetley comforting in knowing that there is a forum like this one which can adress questions that I may have. So far so good, and the wealth of information at my disposal is pretty amazing. Heres the question that I have which I have not seen an answer to yet. Hopefully someone can enlighten me. I completed the online app Feb 10th, got my fingerprints taken the 14th and completed the CHl class the 16th. I just sent in my packet yesterday morning the 17th. My question is, in the DPS website for returning users(where u enter DL # SSN# DOB) I try to log in to see if there have been any updates to my app. The system dosent even show any info on me like if I have not even completed my online app. "No record" is what it states. Now, Im NOT expecting daily updates to my status or anything like that, but should I be seiing something like "application received" first? Or will it show No Record uintill DPS receives all required paperwork/fingerprints etc...??? Thanks for the help.

Welcome!
You will see Application received, etc. probably next week sometime. No need to worry at this point.

Excellent. The only thing confirming that they received anything is the printout I received when I submitted the App... Was getting worried that I had done something wrong.. Thanks

Re: Newbie intro/ CHL status question
I had my finger prints taken and mailed my documents on the same day Jan.31, I had taken the class prior to that, it took 17 days from the day I mailed the info until the DPS site ever updated anything. When it finally updated it showed green for all documents and indicated background check in review. I contacted the website by email about 3 days before I saw an update and they indicated that inital processing was taking 3-4 weeks. Hang in there it'll update!!

Welcome to the site you all! Like it was said, get ready for the longest wait of your lives. While you are waiting, however, dive on in and soak it all up. I learned a lot from this site, and continue to do so on almost a daily basis.
I have say that one of the most comforting things I do on a daily basis is putting my EDC in the IWB holster. It just is like a mental sigh of relief.
