I'm sorry to hear it hit his foot. When I hear of someone playing pocket pool with a loaded pistol, I'm much happier if they remove their ability to contribute to the gene pool.

Personally, I can't work out having a pistol in my pocket. I don't know about you guys, but I don't have that much space left. I have enough trouble trying to pull out change at the donut shop, with keys and pens in one pocket and wallet in the other. I know first hand that keys get hung up on all kinds of things, so can see how this discharge could happen. Trying to figure out how to pull a pistol among all that. Have to many bulges in all front pockets, don't need anything in back pockets. So you guys must wear huge pants with huge pockets.

I seldom do it, but carrying a holstered gun in a pocket is not unreasonable. Ive done it with my Hume JIT OWB in baggy jeans. Nothing shares that pocket with the gun.

I put my 2" revolver in my front change pocket in a holster. a speed strip goes into the main pocket, and that's it.
Wallet in back pocket, keys, change in opposite front pocket.
cell phone in holster on hip (worn OWB @ 4:00 for you tacticool folk

Oh my, I carry my car keys with key fop, seperate key ring with ASP key defender and house keys in one pocket. In the other I clip a Sig knife and carry a surefire.

Cell phone on the left hip, concealed handgun on the right, and somewhere at least one extra magazine.

I understand certain people need/want a pocket knife, or some gum, or what-have-ya.
but I require people to empty their pockets before entering my scan room, and, well, you should see the tons of "stuff" that people are loaded up with.

Now I'm not familar with Kel Tecs. Doesn't it have an external safety?
I pocket carry a 380 quite a bit but it's in a pocket by its self. I have no reason
to put my hand in the gun pocket unless I suspect or think I may
have reason to use it. Even if for some reason I did I would never put
my finger on the trigger. How some of these accidents happen I will never know.

Kel Tecs do not have external saftey. They have a very long and heavy trigger pull. I am not for sure, but I would guess 14 pounds. The thing is heavy. I carry a S&W 340PD in my pocket, but I carry it in a holster. I have a Kel Tec I carry sometimes, but mine has a clip and in goes inside the waist band.

TOTE: Not sure on the Kel-Tec but I think that piece is free and clear of STUFF. I'm with you; How or WHY would you mess with that NOISE MAKER THING ?
My Uncle Rex taught H. S. woodshop for over 20 years. After retirement , a home shop was in order. ! yr. later he was missing 2 major nose cleaning properties due to a table saw !
