Golden Triangle Mall (Denton TX.)

#1

Post by BPKlein »

To All,

My wife (who also has a CHL) and I were at Golden Triangle Mall in Denton, Texas (North of DFW) and noticed that the main entrances to the mall were posted with proper 30.06 signs, but the entrances through the stores were NOT posted.

Just a note to everyone to be careful...

Thanks for the info! :tiphat:

If you can, report everywhere you see a 51%/30.06 sign here.

This is a database of places where you cannot carry.

Cheers! :cheers2:

Just another location that doesn't want CHLer's business (even though they must be fine with the business of gangbangers and thugs; 30.06 doesn't stop them)...most people don't have a clue, and if they just wanted to make folks feel good about it, they'd put up generic "gunbuster" signs...nope, when they post with 30.06, they are being direct and specific. I certainly won't spend a dime of my money in a that place, or any other posted that way, if I can help it.

I have already written my letter to the property management company explaining that I wont be doing business there anymore.

Agree, when they post a sign up that affects something like 1 in every 30 people in the state of Texas, I guess they make enough money without my or my family's business.

Follow up:

I explained to the property manager (via phone) what the 30.06 signs really meant. Now today, I emailed him back to find out if the signs were going to be removed. Guess what? They were removed this past Monday. So, we are welcome back at the Golden Triangle Mall in Denton.

Great job, Bryan. I know that some places (Like Grapevine Mills and Katy Malls) know exactly what the signs mean. I wonder how many other places besides those and the hospitals really understand what they are posting. I agree that it isn't a good strategy to approach a business about a non-compliant sign but getting in touch with management when a 30.06 sign is correctly posted could lead to more changes like this. The worst that can happen is that the attempt is rebuffed.

Fantastic job, Bryan!

By your explanation, the property manager does not know what the 30.06 sign really means... seems troubling that someone would post a sign, any sign, that they don't understand.

Wow, I live in Denton and my wife works in the mall, and I've been in there several times and never saw the signs, which illustrates the problem with malls and 30.06 signs: there are other ways to get into malls than just the main entrances, and if they truly want to ban guns, a sign should be posted at every single one.

Nice to know they took them down, because the 30.06 signs were one of the reasons I stopped going to Grapevine Mills.

Good job, Bryan.

I'm going to be up in Denton Thursday or Friday, so I'm going to make it a point to stop by the mall and eat or buy something, then contact the property management company and thank them as well as letting them know why they got my business.

Again, great job!
