Wife puts foot down?

#1

Post by 1s1k52 »

I am unsure what to make of this but for all intensive purposes willing to confine this list should the threat be real.

wife- "You can buy three more guns before I graduate and has to not exceed 1000.00"

This is 2-3 years away and I felt like the statement could be taken in many ways? So I decided to follow her with a notepad laughing with questions like. "Is that strictly firearms in general? or is ammo included? what about mag extensions because that's an accessory?"

So it got me thinking and I decided that I can't decide on how I would spend that. A Ruger American is between 350-400.00 and requires a scope which would be 100 to ? Mossberg 930 combo I can never find is around 550. Glock 23 or 29 would be 600+ with night sights. The AR build I have planned would be about the entire amount.

needless to say I am bored. I showed her this post and she walked away shaking her head. I am trying to explain I am taking a serious approach to such an open ended demand? :evil2:

My wife and I have an agreement; I don't ask about shoes and purses and she doesn't ask about all the UPS deliveries. We both understand our budget and how much is too much and when to ask permission.

Give her the same (or LESS) budget demand for the same amount of time for SHOES and Facial Products!

My wife thinks I paid under $1000 for my last 7 guns. "rlol" "rlol" "rlol" Heck, I can think of one gun alone that was well north of that.

I just hope when I die she doesn't sell them for what she thinks I bought them for. "rlol" "rlol" "rlol"

That was my take  she claims it was a joke after asking for specifics. Like 1000.00 per section. Hunting/Zombies/Fun/Self-Defense. Those are all separate categories.

She wants more ARs in .223 and .22lr far exceeding her own budget.

As far as the shoes and stuff go I can't get her to do any of that crap. I pay for the tanning and gym membership. She woke up today knowing our loans would be in and wants to shop for clothes for out trip to Austin. Sadly they are not here because I would be making a B-line for that Ruger American. 370.00 flat if I pay cash no tax!

My Dentist and I are great friends. He is an armorer and handloads for several local PDs. He recently got married again. Before the wedding his fiance asked about the gun count. She knew he liked to hunt etc but she didnt know the particulars. So she asked how many guns he had. His first reply was not enough. So no satisfied she asked well do you have more than 10 guns. He said Yes. She thought about it a second and she asked more than 50 guns? His reply was yes. She puzzeld this for a moment then asked More than 100? with the worry starting to creep in to her voice. He replied Actually more than 200... She quickly stated that she wasn't comforatable where this discussion was headed so she let the topic drop and walked away. She doesnt mind that he has them she just no longer asks questions. He actually has asked me that if anything happens to him I am supposed to go help her sell the collection. I can see it now

"Whats this?"

"Oh that old thing... thats an H&K PSG1 german sniper rifle. They don't make them any more and its foreign but I am sure its worth at least 400 or 500. In fact here I will give you 600 for it!" "rlol"

In my world, it's not so much a matter of who wears the pants in the relationship, but who (ALL) carries the guns!!! :biggrinjester:

Which reminds me, it's time to get serious about finding a real live Kahr PM-30 to satisfy SWMBO's latest itch, and fixing the ejector on her STI...

As mentioned above, get HER into shooting, and the budget expands greatly!
