Born in Beaumont, flunked out of Lamar, enlisted in Army to avoid the draft in 1961 and found I liked the military, went on to Infantry OCS and retired after over 31 years of active service. Flew UH-1 "slicks" in Vietnam with 117th & 120th AHC 1966-1968 and with the VNAF in 1972-1973.

While I visit the forum multiple times a day, but I don't post much. There are some great folks on this site. My oldest son is a police officer.

I'm in the 1st year of my 3rd Texas CHL renewal. Shoot several hundred rounds a week mostly 9mm, but some .45ACP, partial to 1911 largely because of my Army service, but also shoot a Glock 19 & 21.

Just realized I hadn't done this, although I've been lurking/posting for a couple of months.

I'm a 50-something "Grammie", married, 2 sons, 2 step-daughters, grandson, granddaughter, and 3 four-legged kids. I'm a middle school teacher (choir - hence the user name). I've had my CHL since February and currently my EDC is a Colt Mustang. I'm saving my pennies for a PPS though.

Thanks to all for this great resource! :thumbs2:
