I posted this in the locked bill status section, but I'm posting it here so people can comment if they want to defend Ms. Brady.SB378, Castle Doctrine, just passed the House on the following vote:
Yea = 133, Nay = 13, Present Not Voting = 1.
The Bill now goes to Gov. Perry for his signature. It will become effective on Sept. 1, 2007. Now we can go about showing the country that Sara Brady lied again.
Chas.
Seriously, I want to thank Chairman Driver and Senator Wentworth for all of their hard work and leadership in bringing a true Castle Doctrine/"True Man" law to Texas. I also want to thank the 107 House co-sponsors and the 28 Senate co-sponsors for signing on to this Bill and in so doing, showing their respect for all law-abiding Texans. I want to thank all of you who added your voices to those supporting this Bill. And finally, I want to thank Alice Tripp and Tara Mica for working this Bill like Trojans and paving the way for its passage.
May God continue to bless Texas.
Chas.
