Have you ever actually drawn your CHL Weopon in self defense

I didn't paint him with the laser until he reached in my window wanting to "shake my hand" so at that point he was trespassing inside of my personal property. The guy told me he was a felon so he wasn't able to get a job, needed gas for his van, had kids in the van, blah blah blah. It went on for a few minutes. I told him no several times. If I would have shot him, it would have been my word against his, if he was able to tell it...

My biggest regret is that I realized later that I should have been paying attention to the other side of my truck just in case somebody else were to try to get in on that side.

The last time I did have someone approach me I just happened to be outside of my truck filling up with gas. The thought did cross my mind and I did back up to my door and look around. When I'm in either of my vehicles, the doors are locked. When I get out I lock the doors. Locking the doors has always been a habit. I didn't start the looking around thing until a few years after getting my CHL. I don't remember where I first learned of the distraction method, but I have noticed the last few years that I do tend to scan more often than I did in my 20's and 30's.

I had just gotten a job in Longview, TX and was looking for a place to live. On my first night in town, my GF and I stayed at a Holiday Inn along I-20, not realizing it was not a nice part of town. We were trying to settle into the room. Trying, because a group of VERY loud folks were making a lot of noise, yelling, cussing, etc. at 11 pm right outside our door. Finally, some idiot didn't knock, but POUNDS, on my room door, yelling to let them in, or else. I looked at my GF and said "Enough is enough." I walked over to my bag and pulled out my Colt .45 auto and walked over to the door. I stood to the side of the door in case they fired through and racked the slide as loud as I could, yelling out in my best 6'5", 250 lbs voice: "Watchu want!!!." I never heard another peep out of that crowd the rest of the night.

My brother was driving to visit his GF at A&M from Houston when a car-load of yahoos starts messing with him. They must have noticed he was picking his nose and started out with the usual finger up the nose crap. Digging around. Then it went to pulling in front of him and slowing down to a pretty slow speed. Then swerving at him. Rolling down the window and cussing him out. He reached under his seat and grabbed his unloaded Colt Python and started scratching his nose with the blade sight on the end of the barrel. They must have needed to go to the bathroom, cause they jammed on the brakes and hit the first exit they came to.

I have no idea if either situation was legal or not. All I know is sometimes a little taste is all it takes to calm a situation down.

I used to stay there every other week or so in the mid nineties. There were several regular guests and some of us become friends from hanging out in the bar. There was one guy who stayed somewhat to himself and didnt often join in our social pursuits. He was a little quirky but seemed ok, though we sometimes joked that he reminded us of a sniper as he always seemed to prefer to sit back and observe.

About 9:30 one evening I was walking to my room down the outside breezeway that bordered the patio/pool/garden. Suddenly "the sniper guy" stepped from the shadows where he had been lurking and loudly whispered through his giggles, "hey, psst, come here, hurry, hurry! He caught me by surprised and as I hesitated he grab my arm and pull me into the bushes and turned me in the direction of a window. By looking between the gap of the wall and the drapes you could see a full length mirror, and in the reflection of that mirror revealed a totally unclothed lady blow drying and fiercely brushing her hair. (stop for a moment and consider the visual here)

I cracked up laughing and said, "you pervert, how long have you been lurking here?" He said "not long, ONLY about 45 MINUTES.....& Im notta perv"

Peeping Tom types when caught in the act should be immediately arrested and jailed - for a LONG time!

This type criminal, as a peeper may simply be warming up to do much worse than peep...

This kind of social behavior along with stalking women's windows at night for extended peeping describes a man who is assuredly headed for much worse if not already doing much worse. When simply imagining becomes too boring, it is followed with action. This is not my opinion. It is the pattern often seen with rapists and murderers of women. One of the things I admire most about the men on this forum is nearly all are the kind of men who would defend women who are being victimized by such animals. This is off subject to the thread for which I apologize. I sincerely tried to just let this one go, but then I thought of the innocent woman who had the right to privacy and safety and the sick guy who should have been reported to the police. It might have gotten a serial rapist off the streets or stopped a man who was headed to becoming one.

Yes, Last year shot and killed a rattle snake in self defense. He was coming at me very fast and only a few feet away. Thank God for snake shot. Ok it was a snake, but the situation was very real. He never rattled, he just came right at me.

Rattlesnakes never did always rattle but they do so even less these days as a result of the pig population. Pigs love to eat snakes so they have learned not to rattle.
