Am I paranoid?

#1

Post by MolonLabe »

Becoming cautiously optimistic about Romney pulling out a win, but is anyone else out there concerned about chances of major rioting/violence if Obama is given his walking papers? I've read about threats being made on Twitter etc, and assume the media will fan those flames as election day gets closer, but I was wondering if anyone else is considering changing plans or staying closer to home in anticipation? Don't usually consider myself paranoid, but this is the first time I can remember ever envisioning the need to go into lockdown mode and I live in Podunk rural Texas, LOL.

I'm just glad I get back to the US a day before Election Day!

My wife has the same concerns, and I "kinda" do, but I think it'll be more isolated and I'll go about my daily business as normal. A few extra pmags in the truck might be the only change I make.

I'm getting more optimistic about a Romney bloodbath on Nov. 6th. All those people on the internet are hiding behind a false name, it's just talk.
I hadn't given any thought about rioting or violence after the election. I wouldn't worry too much about it, if anybody comes near your door, you know what to do.
I expect a lot of nastiness from the left in the next couple of weeks, even from the top guy.

my guess is that if anything really happens it would happen in LA and Chicago....maybe possibly New York and SF but I would doubt those would be too large, people there actually work for a living (oh, yes, she said it)

Thinking I might follow C-dub's lead and do some housekeeping, I was supposed to join a few friends in Dallas that weekend, but thinking Sam Moons will have to wait. I've only had my CHL for a blink, but it's funny how the term "situational awareness" has made me seriously rethink certain choices. Before getting my licence, I assumed I would be more confident about going to certain places (like the city) once I could arm myself. But now, I think I've grown a bit skiddish. Maybe I need a "CHL shrink" teehee.

First of all I don't think it will happen. I hope it doesn't. I don't think you have to worry about rioting from people who sit around waiting for the government to hand out free phones.

IMO, any civil disturbance would be in the big cities, the same as past riots. Living in Podunk, TX would be the best place to be. You can sit on the porch with your shotgun and can watch it all on TV.

There may be some unrest in MoTown, the Big Apple, the Windy City and a few other yankee places; however, I'm pretty sure life will go as always here in the Pineys. Y'all might want to keep your eye on Austin and Travis county?

Wild Bill, good point, LOL. It just seems like the pot is being stirred perfectly by the Phone Fairy and associates, it seems like it's ready to boil over!!

IMO, this post is more political that a general CHL topic. If not, our friendly moderators can move it to where it belongs. :thumbs2:

If it does happen I think it will be limited to the inner-city and nothing long lasting. It will just be a small group of trouble makers if anything happens. I don't see the revolution coming no matter who wins. I have heard so many say it both ways. If Romney wins African Americans are going to riot and burn the cities and if Obama wins the end is near. It won't come to that. Conspiracy theory stuff imo.

In fact I would bet money that if there were riots that they wouldn't be near as bad as the ones in England or even France the last few years. Life will go on it's not the end either way it goes!

Riots are like stampedes. If you drop the leaders you can turn the tide.

Are these not the same people involved in most riots?

Or the occupiers? There's a lot more people not going to work every day these days. Those people wouldn't hurt a fly. "rlol"
