What is an African american? That term is so ridiculous.
I know it is a generalizing term. I love it when I go to fill out some government form and it says white non Hispanic. On my birth certificate it lists me as being from Hispanic descent being that my father is a 1/3 Puerto Rican(3/8 really) but my skin is as white as can be. I am mostly Italian American which is considered white according to the government today but just 40-50 years ago Italian, Greek, Spanish, basically anyone of southern European descent was not considered white. Go check its true! They were listed as other races. When people ask me if I am Italian (my last name is very Italian) I joke and say no I am an American with an Italian last name. But when I fill out a form I must be white non Hispanic, Hispanic, African American, Native American, Asian/ Pacific Islander etc. My point is that so many of us now days are mixed race and if you look at the kids now days many don't even know what race or country of origin their families originally came from unless they are second or third generation. Does it really matter! Not imo. Most of us have culturally assimilated into American society for the most part. I was just saying what I have heard from many people over the last few months. If you don't like African American you can use whatever you like. My friends of darker complexion tell me that Black American is what is becoming popular but they don't really have a preference. :tiphat:

Edit: Puerto Rican is really just a nationality that speaks Spanish. So I have no idea on that side. Puerto Ricans are European, African and of Native American (Caribbean Native) descent so I am a mutt. Got a headache yet!

Has anyone noticed a drop in ammo supply or a run up in prices as the election draws nearer?
This happened last presidential election and it was way worse then it is now! I remember there being little or no ammo in most popular handgun and rifle calibers. I do remember seeing a ton of .45 gap rounds. "rlol" I went into my local Academy and Walmart and that had at least 5 boxes of every major handgun caliber yesterday. Most people have stocked up with enough over the last 4 years so they won't have to go through this again. ;-)

no Puerto Rican is not a nationality, it is a territory of the united states, the people born there are US citizens and are allowed to vote, however Puerto Rico does not have a senator or representatives, it has a territorial governor that is assigned to the senate and House, much like the marshall Islands and Guam and the Mariana Islands.

Now to make it worse, hispanic is not a race, its an ethnicity same as being Irish or Scotts or German, those are also nationalities if your born there but Hispanic is NEVER a nationality. Also there is no person that is born in the US that is African American period. I am not sure that those from europe were listed as other, I think some were as in the example of greeks, they are considered to be of the yellow or asian race much like those from Iraq or Iran even though the skin of many of them is chalk white. The race Classification is decided by Anthropologists (mostly) unless the emperor Obama makes more Imperial Edicts to change things again.

no Puerto Rican is not a nationality
Yes, sir that is true! It is a territory (commonwealth). I misspoke. I love when I have to explain to people that my grandmother was born a US citizen in Puerto Rico but my great grandmother was born in Puerto Rico as a Spanish citizen. I wasn't implying that Hispanic is it's own race. If I did I am sorry for that mis-communication. As for the Italian not being considered white. As for the southern European bit. I know we are getting into the past but I know my grandfather told me growing up that he was not considered white or black and he was full blooded Italian. I always found this funny as a kid because my friends considered me white and my grandfather was the same complexion as me. Funny how half a century changes things! He said Italians and Greeks where lumped together as others . In the end were Americans and that is what matters. :patriot:

Sorry for going off subject.

Our kids Elementary school is celebrating student's heritage festival. There are a mere 41 languages other than English spoken at students' home other than English. Now this is indicative of what USA would look like in 25 yrs, White are a small minority. English is one of many semi-recognized languages of USA. Note: Soon, Spanish speaking residents of Texas would be the majority.

Also, the most top secret all, the Future of USA is dependent on how many qualified legal resident are accepted per year. Proof, see north the border.

The different languages spoken are a problem if they also don't know English, as many immigrants refuse to learn. A common language is the single largest unifying factor among a people besides geography. If different people in the same country don't speak the same language, that country will soon divide up and break apart. I believe we're in the early stages of that today.

I fully expect the United States to break apart within my children's lifetime.

I'm really tired of being quiet and not making waves and thereby being a welcome mat for the liberals to walk on. I say bring it on! Last man standing wins.

:patriot: :txflag:
There will be localized unrest in some places . . . I mean, certain types stage a riot/looting event when their sports team wins. But fortunately, the idiots who do this haven't heard old adage about not soiling the place you sleep, so they'll pretty much trash their own 'hood, maybe a few business districts after closing time.

Peaceful assembly - including peaceful protests - are, and ought to be, Constitutionally protected. But even here in the Austin/Travis County area - arguably the most liberal in Texas - there are plenty of folks who will apply ballistic discouragement to anyone who implements violence against their homes, businesses, or persons. I predict that other than some minor events in the usual places by the usual people, instances of civil unrest will be quite minor.
