2ns Ammenment it’s the weapons, isn’t it? The NRA?

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

2ns Ammenment it’s the weapons, isn’t it? The NRA?

On Wednesday, Rep. Rubén Hinojosa (D-TX) drew a blank when asked about the Second Amendment during a debate with his Republican challenger in McAllen, Texas, The Monitor reported.
“And I can tell you that — I’m drawing a blank on the Second Amendment, but I think it’s the weapons, isn’t it? The NRA?”

Sadly, I shudder to think of the number of young voters that would answer "True" to the following question:

"True or false, the second amendment, which allows Americans to have guns, was forced into the constitution by the powerful lobbying of the NRA"
I don't fear guns; I fear voters and politicians that fear guns.

Please remember, this article is NOT about Texas State Senator Juan "Chuy" Hinojosa.

I think Chuy Hinojosa knows about the Second Amendment. His voting record isn't perfect but it's more pro gun than some Texas Republicans.

Correct and this reduced his TSRA rating from A+ to B+.

However, he has been solid as a rock on every other gun issue, as far as I can recall. For example, the Motorist Protection Act passed on the last day possible, because Chuy got it done in the Senate. He is one of a very few Senators I want to carry bills I write. That's because he doesn't just file a bill to satisfy a constituent then abandon it. He works gun bills!

Thanks to redistricting, he's no longer my Rep.

Chuy,Hinojosa, I think, is in for a real fight. Rep. Frank Torres is challenging him for the Senate seat.
