Incredible, my status changed to "mailed" a week ago and I still don't have plastic.

What gives? Austin to Houston isn't that far away ...

Chill.

The USPS reported that DPS received our CHL 100 renewals on 24 October. DPS website says they're still waiting on required submittals. If you want to see anybody in any sort of hurry there, peek in around 1645 hrs.

And thus the name they have earned, snail mail.

A paraplegic snail mail ... San Antonio to Houston shouldn't be more than three days, tops.

Knotquiteawake ... are you with the DPS?

No wonder the USPS is bankrupt.

Now I am talking about CHL's only.......
I said it before in my 2nd renewal thread but I will say it again here. It is my belief that they actually only send mail (CHL's) out ONCE A WEEK.

But, other mail comes much faster from them. For instance, when I started the online application process, the very next day I had a letter in the mailbox with a confirmation of my payment.

Good question.
When the pile waiting is so high?
Who knows?

AEA, I'm beginning to think you're right about the DPS only mailing CHL's once a week.

Mailman came and went today ... and still no plastic.

Going on day 9 now since status changed to "mailed".
