Address Change turn around

#1

Post by packingmusician »

I moved to Minnesota and changed my address with dps. Does anyone have a wild guess on the turn around time for an address change?

I changed my address in November. From making the change online until new card in hand was less than 2 weeks.

Mine took ~10 days; the better-half ~14.

Update. I got through at DPS and apparently, they have no record of the transaction. So I gave them my confirmation number and they said they would investigate and get back to me. Naturally, they gave me no time when they would be getting back to me, so I have no idea what's going on. I would really like to be carrying now, especially in a new town.

About 2 weeks when I moved in October. Very fast turn around.

Mine took less than two weeks last spring, converting from resident to non-resident.

Just recently changed my address (both within Texas). Did it online, had my new card in 9 calendar days. :thumbs2:

Update 2:

Apparently, Texas Online, the group that handles payments for DPS online, failed to send my payment information to DPS. In other words, DPS never got the money, so I never got my updated CHL. Thank goodness for keeping good records. I'm going to call them back in a couple of days and make sure this got rectified once and for all.

Your existing license is still valid for carry. I would completely continue to carry while waiting for the replacement license.

Mine took right around a week.

I had some issues with a previous move, where the card never showed up. For some reason it had gotten bounced back by the postal service.

I called DPS and they had it back out the next day. They've always been really helpful and easy to deal with via phone.

I just got my updated card yesterday. Oddly, both my DL and CHL arrived on the same day.IIRC, this was about the same turn around I saw when I moved last year.

I know this is a bit of a bump to the thread but it took a week on my turn around. I can't seem to remember what I need to do with the old license. Destroy it like the old DL or am I requires to turn it in? I asked at the DPS licensing station we went for our DL address change and they seem to have no idea.
