If we were looking for armed and dangerous subjects, we had cover officers with ARs or shot guns covering us while we worked or our K9's. Usually we were in fresh pursuit of the suspect(s). If not we asked for consent and nobody ever had an issue with us doing the search as they knew we were looking for some bad person. Many a time we would have the helo make an announcement as to what were were doing and who we were looking for. As the suspect(s) bolted from one yard or house to the next, somebody would call 911 and tell us. That kind of help works great.
I'd let them look in the yard but if the alarms didn't go off, I'm pretty sure he's not inside my house. Save precious time and look where he's more likely to be.
The city is not a concrete jungle. It is a human zoo.

They are not looking in my house.

Quite confident that the relaxed and sleepy demeanor of my German Shepherd is a good indicator that there are no intruders in my house.
