Please let us know where you buy your iMacs. The list prices for them run from $1799 to $3849. That is without upgrading or adding any software or support packs.

My 27" was pretty close to $3,800 about a year ago.

HEHEHE Here is one for you. About November basically most of the IT staff goes on vacation and doesn't come back until January. Why? because the internal and external auditors sweep through during December and they don't want the IT staff around while they poke and prod everything. If you are a full time employee who has more than 2 weeks of vacation and you are taking more than three vacation days in a month it is HIGHLY recommended that you take a whole 2 weeks. This is so that they can uncover any issues!

This sounds a lot like a trading company. Many require that you take at least two consecutive weeks in order to see if you've been doing something that you shouldn't be...

That reminds me, my most liberal friends all have MACs. Though, iPhones are pretty evenly distributed among my friends (no liberal or conservative correlation).

and it's funny, but most (not all) people I run across who hate Macs just can't afford them. So they resort to Mac bashing.

I have noticed that a lot of folks say a Mac is okay because it can be set up to boot as either a PC or a Mac? So a Mac is okay because it can act like a PC and it only costs three times as much to be able to get around to being a PC.

I think I'll keep the PC for 1/3 the price and not have to go through the transformation from Mac to PC.

Some folks accept change better than others. For those of you that hate Mac, stop using products that have done everything possible to copy the Mac platform. (Windows, Android, tablets)

I guess it's a little hard for you to trust me since I'm a new member, but when my first couple of jumbo CDs mature, I could clean out a whole Apple Store.

Certainly are of the potential war and absolutely do not want one. The pros you mentioned are why I'm considering a Mac. I've been lucky for years or all the precautions I've taken have been effective or both.

MagicGlock, do you have any experience with any of the MS Office suite products on your Mac?

I use the Open Sourced LibreOffice. It'll do anything M$ can do, even better. It is highly customizable and is always free regardless of how much you add or upgrade.

Picked up a new 27" iMac this weekend with all the dials set to "11." Cuz, you know, that's what you need to run QuickBooks on the Mac

Here's a pic of me trying to look surprised at how large the screen is, but instead I just look angry. Probably because I'm also trying to get my taxes done, sigh.

Postscript: I do my own website design and development, so this will work nicely for my old eyes. I also run WIndows 8 on a nice machine next to it (not shown, because this iMac is big enough to blot out the sun )
