She says the loaded 9mm was in her trunk and not in her glove compartment as previously reported. She says a janitor, who also works at the school, put it there the night before. She claims the gun belongs to him. According to Kemp, he was planning on coming home with her on the day she was arrested. “He was planning on coming home with me Friday to meet my mom, and that was it,” she said.

However, Kemp says his girlfriend found out about it.
I'm glad it worked out for her legally but maybe she should rethink her taste in men.

This building is owned by the school district, and is funded by both the city government and the district. Employees of both agencies using thier employee health insurnace can utilize the clinic and it keeps the costs down for everyone. Anyway--the building is owned by the district so a chl holder would be in violation if he entered, sign or no sign. But the sign is posted on a government building/school building. Perhaps the city employees and dependents might not realize it i school property, but the sign seems out of place.

maybe, maybe not...
Agree on govt owned building so shouldn't be a 30.06 sign except unless a Gov't meeting
but
is it a school?
is it a hospital?

It's not a school, but it is a building owned by the school district and the employees working therein are paid by the school district. I'm not aware of any case law that covers this, but the law doesn't say that instruction must be occurring in a school for it to be illegal. Just irritating that they post it when it really is the wrong sign. I'm guessing that the attorney they hire for this stuff is pretty much a generalist and did the best he could.

She really oughtn't wear that dress on TV. I didn't hear a word she said. Somebody tell me how to run the first 15 seconds of the video in a continuous loop.

I leave my handgun in a lockbox in my truck when I visit my son's school. This is why I always park on the street.
