3 weeks from submission to first status

It took three weeks from the time DPS received my paperwork, before their website said anything.

Here is my timeline so far:
27 Dec 2012: Online app
29 Dec 2012: Completed CHL Course
02 Jan 2013: Fingerprints Taken
02 Jan 2013: Mailed packet
04 Jan 2013: Packet delivered to DPS
25 Jan 2013: First indication on DPS website that they received packet
25 Jan 2013: Background Under Review

Others are reporting similar turnaround times.

DPS customer service is averaging around 5 days to respond to email inquires.

I checked today (2/13). Background complete and now in "Manufacturing pending". Status changed sometime in the last few days.

Status changed to "Mailed" today (2/16).
So its looking like mailbox (1/2/2013) to mailbox (2/21/2013 ????) is taking about 7 weeks.

I submitted docs via attachment on 1/24 and my status changed to "waiting on receipt of required materials" the next day.

I got an email acknowledgment of the documents being received on 2/6, but that's the last I've heard from them, and my status is still "waiting on receipt..."

I went ahead and made another email contact just because it seems confusing. The email said the got my documents, but for the past two weeks, the website says they are still waiting on them.

The wording of the status of "waiting on receipt of required materials" really should be changed. It really means "waiting on DPS to get around to processing the received paperwork and updating the website".

Since you just passed the three week mark last Thursday (2/14), I would expect that the status go to "BG in review" any time now.
