Becoming CHL instructor
I just did my application online to become a CHL instructor but it really didn't give any instruction on whats the process. I have a CHL now and I haft to take finger prints again? Any advise on what needs to be done. Thanks

Yup just hang on it takes a while but you will hear from them.

Are you a certified NRA instructor or have some form of certification from a national program? Gonna need that if you don't have it already.

I just did the same application and likewise already have a chl. So, do I need to submit more fingerprints? Seems like they should already have them.

They have to submit a different set of prints to the FBI per the FBI requirements. The FBI runs them for different reasons.
Once your application is accepted, schedule with MorphoTrust/L1/Whatever they are called this week and they will take care of the rest.

Yes, you have to submit another set of fingerprints. The way the prints are run is determined by what DPS says you are going to be doing (CHL, CHL instructor, etc.).

GC §411.190. QUALIFIED HANDGUN INSTRUCTORS. (a) The director may certify as a qualified handgun instructor a person who:
(1) is certified by the Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education or under Chapter 1702, Occupations Code, to instruct others in the use of handguns;
(2) regularly instructs others in the use of handguns and has graduated from a handgun instructor school that uses a nat ionally accepted course designed to train persons as handgun instructors; or
(3) is certified by the National Rifle Association of America as a handgun instructor.
