How long before renewal shows at DPS?

Has anyone sent their CHL-100 form in for renewal and can tell me how long before the website reflects it was received? I did the on-line renewal and the website does say that was completed but DPS is waiting on the requested material (cover sheet and the CHL-100 form only - did not request fingerprints or photo after it assigned my renewal number/barcode).

Well I did mine over the holidays so it is probably a little slow. Also I submitted mine before the New Town shooting. Sent mine in on Dec.10 and it was received on the 3rd of January. I got my plastic in the mail on the 22nd of this month. This is for a chl-100.

My CHL instructor told me they are full on classes for over 2 months and they have increased the number of classes. I assume they have not increased the DPS chl employes to deal with it so be prepared to wait even for renewals. I heard they are bombarded with first time chls.

I mailed mine on Dec. 14. The site did not show it was received until Jan. 14. I received the license on Jan. 22. The DPS told me it takes about 4 weeks from the time they receive the application until it is posted as received. This was for a renewal.

I didn't check the website much but my renewal last year was 29 days door-to-door.

Just FYI and update - sent my renewal package 22 Jan, showed on the DPS website two weeks later (like apostate said), and got the new license yesterday (27 Feb). Not bad considering the CHL application upsurge they had down there.

Sent mine on February 11, updated to recieved on Friday February 22nd. Updated that fingerprints were reviewed yesterday. Now pending background. I'll keep ya posted and hope I get mine before 4/1 otherwise I may have a brief period without license. I may get lucky but cutting it close.

Mine was sent 1/6/13 and took a month to show received. It then took about 2 weeks for the background checks. It now shows a status of mailed as of three days ago.

Background completed today, status changed to pending manufacture of license. Moving along quickly once status changed to recieved.

Status changed to Mailed Monday and received new plastic in mail today. Mailed documents for renewal to DPS 2/11/13 received plastic 3/8/13. DPS seems to be handling the increased volume well!
