Back in 1990, when I was deployed in Desert Shield and Desert Storm as a Marine grunt, some companies prioritized me items for my M16 for shipping that I purchased with my own funds. After getting out and forming Magpul in 1999, I established the same priority policy for Military and Law Enforcement, due to the requirements of their profession.
The same policy has been in place for 13 years now and has never been an issue until a few days ago. I do not support the idea that individual police officers should be punished for the actions of their elected officials. That said, I understand the concerns that some have with Law Enforcement officers getting special treatment while at the same time denouncing second amendment rights to another citizen in the same state.
With the fight in Colorado right now we do not have time to implement a new program, so I have suspended all LE sales to ban states until we can implement a system wherein any Law Enforcement Officer buying for duty use will have to promise to uphold their oath to the US Constitution - specifically the second and fourteenth amendments - as it applies to all citizens.

This is an example of how important our oath is to most veterans. It should also tell you something about how we conduct ourselves in combat. So when you read stories about atrocities in Vietnam, or Iraq, or Afghanistan, weigh those stories in that light. Yes, there are atrocities committed by members of our armed forces, but they are decidedly not the norm.

Four statements in Four days... The power of the internet is something S&W didn't have to contend with last time. They would ill-advised not to see how harsh this has been on a plastic gear maker.
I still have zero use for Magpul products, and to me he is still spinning the stir stick in the kool aide. However I concede he is atleast heading in the right direction now.

I'm sorry. I can't put together who S&W is in your post. The only thing I can think of is Smith & Wesson. If that's it I don't understand how you're applying it.DevilDawg wrote:Four statements in Four days... The power of the internet is something S&W didn't have to contend with last time. I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

Re: Magpul LEO Sales
I go to school with quite a few ex military members. Most of them still take their oaths seriously. As for war, it's a terrible thing. It's meant to be terrible. Terrible things happen and terrible things will always happen. That's why war should always be a last resort. The people fighting the war should not be condemned. For those of us who have never been there, we could never imagine the horrors that the brave men and women of our military have to face. I believe that veterans should be respected and honored more than politicians and celebrities.baldeagle wrote:This is an example of how important our oath is to most veterans. Yes, Smith & Wesson and here is a link from the nra records. If they had to face the same firestorm then that the internet has put on Magpul now, there might have been a little less celebration by the Clinton team.C-dub wrote:I'm sorry. Why don't you outline your case against Magpul? BTW, I own no Magpul products. Then explain your posts about them "heading in the right direction," and "expert level marketing spin." They seem to conflict. I'd like to know what the beef is.DevilDawg wrote:Yes, Smith & Wesson and here is a link from the nra records. Re: Magpul LEO Sales
I'm sorry.....I do understand the reference to S&W, and I'm not trying to argue with you, but I am confused about what you are trying to say. Magpul is not doing anything that a dozen or more other manufacturers of firearms and/or firearms accessories haven't also been doing in reaction to draconian laws passed by various states. They are far from the only ones. You may not like their products (frankly, I don't care....I have a BUNCH of their products and have been buying them for years and I'm a very satisfied customer), but your poor opinion of their products has little or nothing to do with their political activism. I can't particularly stand Kel Tec products. It's a personal thing. But if the state of Florida were to pass the kinds of laws that Colorado, California, New York, and Connecticut have recently passed, I would absolutely applaud Kel Tec (which is located in Florida) if they declined to sell any more of their products to the state government which tried to trample on their market. My personal opinion of their products has little or no bearing on whether or not they are doing the right thing in terms of corporate political activism.DevilDawg wrote:Yes, Smith & Wesson and here is a link from the nra records. I dislike glocks because they force you to use an other than natural grip, slide bite because the grip is too short, and mags pinch me while shooting brass directly back into my face. Otherwise I am sure they are a fine firearms. I just happen to prefer the XD series of polymer pistols.. But thanks for making assumptions and snide remarks based on years of experience..baldeagle wrote:TAM, I think he's a milspec metal fanboy. Bet he hates Glocks too.
Back to the Traitors of the 2nd:
No, I don't dislike the products for form or function. I do however refuse to support or give credit to a company that is tricking people into thinking they support your 2nd rights.
First they come out and declare they are on our side, "we stand with you little people against this unjust ban". The sheeple can't wait to sing the praises of the almighty Magpul.. A big company finally on our side
Next, "we still won't sell to you little people, but we need that LEO money to make the quarter profitable. No you won't have a legit need to use these defending you and yours. Only the LEO faces danger worthy of our products.
.. Now the horde riots, Magpul must make hasty announcement to correct this horrible direction overnight internet power created
Lets drag up a poster reflecting a time when the USA really did something great, and use it so all the people we are about to lose as customers in our own state will buy up 90days worth in a week. We look like we are supporting the little people, but this ad campaign has to make us look cool even on facebook. The poster being an outstanding psyop campaign from WWII in case some need me to drill it down even further.
... The horde now sing the praise of MAgpul, even as the company espouses the next day the 4th message
And finally coming out with the proclomation that as a vet the CEO is really all about you little people, but he just can't deny the LEO/Mil market. All under the guise that if a LEO will "pinky-swear" not to use those products in true ghestapo fashion while rounding up the peons they will continue to sell them.
If people are too dense to see the truth behind the marketing ploy then I can't make it anymore clear for you.

I'll be the first to admit that there is no one gun for everyone, but in the 16 years I have been shooting Glocks I have never experienced any of the issues you've expressed above. I guess I must be doing something wrong.

if you think that at this point in time they need LEO money to be profitable you have either been living under a rock the last few months or you know absolutely nothing about business.

sounds more like a Lone Ranger than a horde.
