I'm tired of seeing empty ammo shelves!! The way it looks, better start looking for a slingshot and some good rocks!! :mad5

Where are you shopping? All the stores I am going to, the ammo shelves are stocked full. My Academy, Walmart's, Bass Pro and Cabela's shelves are full of ammunition.

Oh, I left the important parts out.

It's all stocked with shotgun and rifle ammunition. All my stores have removed the space from the shelves for high demand ammo and replaced it by doubling up on less demand ammo.

Cabela's Ft. Worth had almost NO pistol ammo of any caliber today. A few boxes of .44 and .17 and that was about it! I wasn't looking for ammo, but it was really sad.

Yep, and The_Busy_Mom is reporting that folks are getting "pushy" at the door before the store opens. Guys showing up last are trying to move up to the front or run through the store to be first. :banghead:

I have never wanted a .17 so bad. Stores are loaded down with .17.

The local hardware store I work at hasn't been able to get any 22LR since early Jan. Our distributor won't even take the order right now. We can get .30 Carbine, but no 223 or 308. We normally don't stock any handgun ammo.

Not to poke fun at your difficulty, but I just found 550 rounds today of .22LR I didn't even know I had. It was squirreled away in a box under my reloading bench and I found it while I was straightening up and cleaning up my mess. That brings my .22 ammo on hand to 1,639 rounds.......but who's counting?

How much is your .30 Carbine?

They were high priced. Remington SP. The last 3 boxes (50 rnd ea) went at $49 ea. I thought it was ridiculous and told them so. But believe it or not it was the "normal" mark up because they would only order 2 or 3 boxes at a time. When we last received 22LR before the panic they were $3.79 box 50 Rem T-Bolts, Rem Goldens were $4.39 for box of 50. I didn't even buy my ammo there. Thought it was too expensive.

Someone is getting ammo somewhere. The gun ranges are full to the brim. I've got 9 boxes sitting around and I'm afraid to use them and I'm looking for more to buy. If you can go to a Bass pro or Cabellas on a Friday morning before they open and get in line and head to the ammo part of the store when the doors open you should be able to snag some.

Is it really that bad? Wow! I am fortunate enough to have plenty of ammo so I have not tried finding any in the past year. Seriously? There are reports of 100 people waiting in line?? That is CRAZY!!

I wonder how much of this shortage is brought on by the federal government buying up supplies?

ive given up on driving to stores. I now just look online and set reminders with companies like freedom munitions and wait to be notified. I end up spending more but a reduction in stress and frustration is worth it for me. Ive also given up on trying to find ammo to shoot the AR15s. Eventually supply and demand will work itself out so i will just wait. Instead, lots of dry fire practice with pistols and rifles concentrating on fundamentals and technique.
