Come on, don't keep us in suspense . . . what WAS the response from your professor, other students, etc?

Easy now, folks. Everyone's posting and PMing questions about the response but keep something in mind: I can't be at the computer all day; I had to go to class!

The response was interesting. My professor, just as I predicted, respected my opinion and appreciated the fact that my project was different than the majority of my peers. As for the other students, I got little regard. As I stood near my project pretending to observes others, I heard only a couple of comments which were both along the lines of "gun people are crazy" and "gun nut". Like water off of a duck's back to me...

PS: I was given a 94 on the project. Bad text color vs. background color he said. I'll take an A- all day long.

I would have to agree with him, and if you don't mind the additional critique, an off center flash or an umbrella would have fixed the contrast problem in your pic, not something that's usually an option with the typical point and shoot digi cams. Sometimes just a piece of card stock held at an angle in front of the flash will help quite a lot, and with a digi you can experiment to your heart's content and just erase the results you're not satisfied with.

Good job.

I like to use the following to shut people up whenever they mention "gun nuts"

*************
By Massad Ayoob

What about the argument that people die in domestic arguments because a gun is within reach of an angry person?

When asked this question, I always respond with a question: “Could you pick up a gun and kill someone you love because they angered you?

If the answer is No, I reply, “Then how dare you imply that I, and everyone else, would be that unstable?

If the answer is Yes, I suggest they stop attempting to counsel well-adjusted people and immediately seek psychiatric counseling for their own self-admitted tendency toward acting out impulses of uncontrollable violence.

I am second to this great idea. I also like the cartoon where two armed robbers were stopped by "Gun Free Zone" sign with a sentence like "duh, what do we do now?"

What's the cost to put up a billboard?

Thank you for speaking your mind. Students on the far left can be a highly judgmental and irrational audience. Your grade isn't too bad either!

Anywhere from $700 to $2,500 per month. Something like this would be cool to see while driving by. It might even help make the connection in some folks minds. I'd kick in $50 just to see it!

Ditto there!
Count me in if anyone has the means to put that up! I'd be proud to see it.

Let's simplify. Remember the "message from God" billboards?
