Idiots... while they certainly have the right to refuse service you can be sure citizens and leo's alike have the right to refuse to eat there

First Denny's, now this? 8 cops were turned away from a Va. Buffalo Wild Wings for coming in with their guns on-duty and plain-clothed:
MANASSAS, Va. — Eight police officers were refused service at Buffalo Wild Wings on Wednesday, apparently because they had their weapons displayed.
The group walked into the Buffalo Wild Wings located near Wellington Road and Market Street, but were refused service by an employee who said they had to secure the guns before they would be served.

Scott Lupton, the general manager of the Manassas Buffalo Wild Wings location, sent an email to LaClair, apologizing for any confusion caused by the incident, which he calls a “huge misunderstanding.”
Looks like it was an over zealous employee rather than the management who asked the cops to leave. I'm sure the manager had a very colorful conversation with the employee.“… There is no reason why those officers should have been asked to leave … police officers are always welcome in my establishment and even though we do have a no gun policy, as a company that excludes off duty police officer,” Lupton wrote. “As a company we are community oriented. We appreciate everything that police officers do for us.”

Re: Buffalo wings
There is no difference between armed off duty cops and armed citizens.
That needs to be explained the the wild wings people.

Thankfully, the "no guns allowed" sign on the BWW I occasionally visit has no bearing on whether I can carry or not.

If a company want's to ban evil guns from their establishment, that's their perogative. But we need to stop making off duty LEO's a different class of citizen from us "ordinary" law abiding citizens.

I sincerely apologize to anybody I offended by suggesting the Second Amendment also applies to The People who don't work for the government.

The Prince William County Police officers were on duty, but were in plain clothes, said Daryl LaClair, a Prince William County resident who wrote a letter to the restaurant chain’s headquarters and started a public awareness campaign regarding the incident.

I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

Arrest powers? Training (in a variety of things)? Different applicable carry laws?anygunanywhere wrote:There is no difference between armed off duty cops and armed citizens.

There is definitely a difference, in reality, and in the law books (like it or not...). I still it's a stupid policy, just to be clear.

Re: Buffalo wings
The way I see it, I can make about 372 varieties of wings in my own home...
I like my home...
I can carry there (open or concealed, my choice)...
If BWW doesn't want my pistol in their restaurant, they don't want me there either...
I'm not sure how all this worked out but it sure would be nice to see the LEOs stop eating there too...

Stopped eating there a long time ago. As far as I'm concerned their food is just as bad as their policies.

The second amendment does not make any differentiation between someone who is credentialed for a certain job or one who is simply a citizen by birth and whose rights are enumerated by the constitution..gigag04 wrote:Arrest powers? Re: Buffalo wings
We are starting to see this more and more. Happened a Denny's a couple of months ago. Seems like the managers or trainers of these "fine" establishments should take their training or discipline a step farther.
Funny thing, I have not seen a 30.06 sign on any higher end restaurants (steak houses, seafood, italian), that I occassionally go to.
As stated above, we can let them know how we feel about their policies by not spending our cash at their places of business. I will not go into a place of business that does not allow me my RKBA. (except a hospital and even that is on an emergency basis).

Re: Buffalo wings
Secure the guns, huh? Maybe they should have just passed their service pistols around the table. That way, they'd each have handed the handgun to an officer. Ought to be secure now, huh?texanjoker wrote:http://www.policeone.com/media-relation ... -for-guns/

Nothing is said about the waiter or the motive. It may have been a pro-2A waiter taking an idiotic policy to its logical conclusion.
