Ford Park and the fairgrounds show to be owned by Jefferson County on the CAD site, so just like the State Fair here in Dallas, they cannot prohibit carry there. Not sure where they dug up that sign; must have been the cheapest one they could find. LOL

That's what I saw, also. There was one of those signs at each walk in entrance.

So the Southeast Texas State Fair is held in a Federal facility?
18 U.S.C. § 930 : US Code - Section 930: Possession of firearms and dangerous weapons in Federal facilities

(g) As used in this section:
(1) The term "Federal facility" means a building or part
thereof owned or leased by the Federal Government, where Federal
employees are regularly present for the purpose of performing
their official duties.
I believe they are mistaken... :nono:

I wonder why they would think they are on federal property or in a federal facility? Or are they trying to pull a fast one?

It's the sponsoring organization the YMBL that puts the signs up not the city or county. You'd think as many lawyers that are members they would know better. I have been to the Southeast Texas State Fair one time in the last ten years, and that should hold me for the next couple of decades.

It was actually a nice day to be there with my daughters, their softball friends, and their parents. It doesn't have the appeal that it had when I was a kid, but my girls enjoyed it.

My wife and I went today. It was the first time I have been sense it moved to Ford Park. Not like I remembered when at Fair Park. The only signs I saw was the oddball ones at the gates and on the windows at the exhibition hall. The ones at the hall had 30.60 instead of 30.06. The band playing sounded good.

Went back and saw the 30.60 sign. I chuckled...
