NRA convention and people pointing firearms at me

My issue is the people that pull out their loaded concealed guns to try something. That really irks my chap.

They're almost as bad as those people waving the "unloaded" guns around.

I never go to gun shows (since I am an FFL it is pointless to me) so perhaps it is the same way there. Today at the NRA convention I walked passed numerous people looking at firearms and pointing them at the crowd. One guy was checking out a scope on an AR and pointed it right at me as I walked by. Not sure how it would have gone if I would have told the guy to point it the best he can at something other than people. I realize that is hard to do with a crowd that big but at least attempt to try and not point at people. Even though there were people upstairs it would have been nice if he would have aimed at something on the ceiling or a wall, it would have made me feel better.

Get over it.

As I walked to the Barrett both, I realized I had a .50 pointed right at my face.

Ces la vie.

I was there from opening time 9:00 am until about 2:00 pm. Lots of enthusiastic people. I did see quite a few people pointing guns in the direction of other people both intentionally and without realizing it. If I happened to be next to them I politely pointed out their error and a couple of them got wide-eyed as it suddenly struck them that they were doing something they shouldn't have.
All in all it was a pleasant experience and nice to see such a great turnout for this event. Since concealed carry is allowed my friend and I were both armed and we both joked about how the crime rate in the general area of the convention center was probably abnormally low these couple of days.

Nope. Tie wrapped. Most of the NDs I've read about in gun shows were small FFLs or private sellers with a table forgetting to unload a gun that they use/used as a carry weapon that they have put on the table for sale.
I was at DMH when a 1911 went Boom. The BIL of a small time FFL had come to the show to "help". Came thru the vendors entrance with his loaded CC. Got to the table, ejected the magazine and reinserted it. Tie wrapped it with the hammer back and the skinny tie wrap in front of the hammer run thru the trigger guard. Customer picked up the gun, pointed it at the table and pulled the trigger. Big hole in the table and an indent in the floor. HP .45 round flat as a pancake.

Get over it? That is not good firearms safety you practice and eventually it will end up biting you. Perhaps you should go over the rules of firearms safety again, let me assist you in refreshing your memory.

The last gun show I attended was the same way. I was muzzle swept many times with fingers on triggers. I think the problem is there are so many new people to firearms and have not been taught any safety rules.

I couldn't begin to list all the violations I saw. There were many.

I had a great time at the NRA convention exhibit hall. I wish I had budgeted more than the two hours I did. I could have stayed all day. Met Les Baer and Jim Clark.

It was really packed on Saturday.

Even though though it was so crowded and everyone was being jostled a little. Everyone was happy and oh so polite.

I covered the convention Friday, and all day Saturday. I still was unable to see it all. It was massive. I too encountered
folks pointing guns all over the place. Simply putting my hand up seemed to remind most of the safety issue. I saw no one,
zero, zip, nada, with a concealed weapon expose or attempt to "try" their concealed weapon in any holster etc. What I did see
and was impressed with was the courtesy, politeness and honesty of those I had a chance to witness or encounter. Most all
guns had the magazines inserted, no one was "stealing".... try that at a Dallas gunshow. Great experience overall.
