Really, I thought we should be teaching kids about guns and gun safety. I guess we need to take this approach with sex as well.

Its not sick, when I have kids I will be teaching my kids about the uses of firearms and educated them on how they are used and when to use them. That's the problem today, people who do not understand firearms are the ones who are scared of them. Take the time to learn and understand them, that's the point! Since the Newton tragedy everyone thinks guns are bad, its not guns, its lack of education and love within a family. Just my two cents.

Idiots! This from the same people that say we should be handing out birth control devices to ten year olds.

This nation is full of guns and will be for the foreseeable future. To not teach your kids about them is immoral and sets them up for injury and worse if they ever come across one (which they will). To do that to your own children is sick.

You have to understand the liberal mind. Teaching a child how to safely and appropriately use a gun fosters independence --that's an anathema to a liberal. To a liberal, young girls having sex is a win-win, no-lose proposition. The results are all liberal utopia good:

1) pregnancy and childbirth --this frequently adds at least one new person to the rolls of State dependency (and possibly two, if the mom isn't already on welfare); produces a new Democratic voter who will help produce more Democratic voters; helps keep people poor, ignorant, and dependent, making them easier to exploit and control.

2) pregnancy and abortion --helps with fundraising for liberal causes; helps create a culture that devalues individual life, thus helping set the stage for eliminating your opposition; helps prevent the formation of families which helps to keep people dependent on the State; denigrates the role of men and fathers; and helps both men and women avoid responsibility for their actions.

3) sex without childbirth or abortion --helps promote promiscuity which eventually leads to childbirth or abortion; helps to increase pharmaceutical company revenues and government spending; helps prevent the formation of families; and helps both men and women, but especially men, avoid responsibility for their actions.
