Re: Apple iPhone : Not Missed
When I bought, I bought Apple, and have stayed for one reason: they're anal about their apps.
I was concerned about the Android "store" because there was a lot of press about the high percentage of apps with malicious code. If Google had just cleared the apps of malware, without censorship, I'd have gone Android. Now I don't care. My iPhone 3G still works, Google is coming back on to the platform, all is well.

Opposite for me. Too much crap to keep up with on android, too many settings, etc. etc. The simplicity of the iPhone never gets old.

Re: Apple iPhone : Not Missed
We've all heard the adage, "once you go Mac, you never go back."
I haven't gone with a Mac as of yet; my Dell works well. (I will say it is not the crap a past poster called it.). However, I got an iPad for Christmas, then got my very first smart phone when my little dumb-y phone of 4+ years started to wear out. I chose the iPhone since it was basically a small iPad that makes phone calls. I will say that I love both products.
They share an Apple account, so I can keep the same apps on both if it works for me.
My iPad has become an appendage. I keep my calendar on it, keep track of family and friends, and I use it in my classroom almost daily to either teach or to remediate students. I take notes on it during discipleship, and use the Bible app on it in church. I have a folder of apps on it that are reserved for my toddler.
I've also liked the iPhone much more than I ever imagined. It takes great pictures, texting is easy, and in general the phone is easy to use.
I use both to check email, although the phone is better when I'm away since my iPad is wifi only.
My mother had one of the older Samsung Galaxies. Perhaps she just got a lemon, but she had a lot of trouble with that phone. She recently got the iPhone and loves it.

I like my iPhone. I like my iPad. I like using them in public because it instantly lets everyone know that I am the ultimate in cool.

Re: Apple iPhone : Not Missed
I see folks using iPhone wanna bee phones or iPad wanna bee tablets and my first thought is always, "oh look, how sad. Poor soul couldn't scrape together the coin to have the best so they had to make do with the second or third best". Then I wonder if they will claim they did this by choice when we both know the truth.

I heard the the proper retort to that adage is, "no, once you go Mac, the PC don't want you back".Venus Pax wrote:We've all heard the adage, "once you go Mac, you never go back." .

My work is done here. I have to get back to the office. I'm sitting in a chicken express typing on my iPad.
