Great advice here. Thank y'all. I'll be taking the course around Fort Worth. I was planning on Bass Pro in Grapevine.

If you live over near Cabela's our own Moderator Crossfire has classes there and I would highly recommend their class. http://www.crossfire-training.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I hear that one of the assistant instructors and range officer is a really cool guy. :thumbs2: :mrgreen:

Of the 3 classes I've been to, his was the best.
First, that's a crappy attitude since the students aren't trying to get over on the instructor. They are simply exercising an option that the state legislature has given them. As far as the class length is concerned, instructors can still make the class as long as they choose. But the required information & test have to be given within the mandated 4-6 hours. Anything after that should be presented as optional.

If he requires it to be a 10 hour course, then he will be in violation of the law and potentially have his instructor certification pulled. He will have to make it required to be no longer than 6 hours plus range time and allow a student to be certified in that amount of time.
