I just submitted an address change, can I still carry?

My current CHL is not expired or anything, but I recently moved to a new apartment so I submitted an address change. Can I carry with my current license until the updated one gets here?
Thanks!

Yes, but you have 30 days to go submit and address change to dps.

I changed both my address for the CHL on the chl website as well as updated my address for my drivers license on the DPS website. Is this what you mean?

Will it take 8-12 weeks for them to send you a new ID ?

I'm not sure. I know it took over 3 months for them to finish my application and send me the chl when I applied for it in january. I'm hoping a simple change of address is much faster!

No. When I updated my address a couple of years ago it was less than 2 weeks.

But that was a couple of years ago... Then people also received their first CHL much faster because the application process was not flooded due to all the Obama bull we have had go on over the last 10 months. Like I said it took 3 months after I sent off the required materials for my chl.. to finally have the status updated and then took another month for my background check which I have no bad background at all as I am 21 and the worst thing I have recieved is a seat belt ticket. I fear due to how the backup currently is, that this address change will take longer than normal. But I hope not!

When I applied for my CHL in 2009 it took 6 months to get my CHL. And that was with no hiccups on the BG check. I just got mine renewed and it took about 3-4 weeks. The biggest holdup is usually the BG check. For a change of address, all they do is update the address and send it to be made. I will be surprised if he doesn't get it back in 2-3 weeks max.

We moved to an apt. and are building a house. I submitted my address change one week and got it a week later. Didn't take long at all.
