I want to carry them all!

I like them all. 1911's in all sizes, Sigs in any caliber, snub nose revolvers especially lightweight pocket sized ones, etc. Blue, Stainless, Parkerized, alluminized with supercalifragilistic night sights AAAHHHHHHH...

Everyday I war with myself over what I'm going to carry. I go to the range nearly every week, (been twice this week) and practice with various weapons. I am not one to settle on one platform nor am I concerned about choking in a defensive situation due to lack of ability with the gun I'm carrying.

Am I alone? Anyone else here have more than one handgun that they're extremely fond of carrying?

A: The law does not appear to limit the number of guns you may carry.

Okay, I am outing myself. I, too, am one of those who believes he never has enough shoes.....er guns. I have 1911's, titanium revolvers, steel revolvers, single action bag rear revolvers, 5 Kel-Tecs, 6 shotguns.....and still I maintain a list of 30 or so items I plan on aquiring when funds are available.

I carry two handguns consistently. Depends on my mood, mode of dress, weather, etc.

I feel especially dressy when I am packing my Kimber.

I feel better already.

Did you ever see the video of (I think it was) Lenny Magill with like 25 or 30 guns concealed? Probably couldn't move around - but it was kinda interesting just how weapons can be concealed.

On a more serious note - I have one "carry" weapon. Lots of other things to go to the range with - but only one consistently with me type of weapon. Just like putting my wallet in my pocket - it is always there. My concern with carrying different weapons would be that, if you have a bunch of other weapons, a FTF or other problem in a situation could be bad if one is struggling to figure how to strip a magazine, where the safety is, how many rounds are available, sighting issues, or remember which weapon has a sensitive bang switch.

Then of course there is the issue of getting the right holster or concealed carry rig. A significant problem with the continued abandonment of orphan and unwanted holsters.

I agree.

When I started carrying my Kimber I stopped carrying my Beretta. We know that you will respond on the street as you train. In a deadly force scenario you will not have acceess to your intellect. I carry one mode.

Just curious if anyone else "also" carries a long gun in vehicle for self defense purposes. In a recent CHL renewal class, the instructor made the comment that nobody carries a rifle for SD, only hunting, so expect the Game Warden to ... (can't remember because of shock at the moment). Since it was a classroom and not the real world, I chose not to engage her in argument. Ever since I was old enough to drive, I was armed. It's just standard equipment ! Shotgun or rifle, whatever is your choice, maybe that's just me.

All in all, the CHL renewal class at Tac-Pro was good.

I can't even imagine a "what if" senario where I would realistically need a LG or Shotgun for self defence while out in public...

Even stretching the, "I'm going to and from the gunrange." defies odds...

But...I'm not poopin' on the concept...

Imagine the possibilities regarding a Mark Wilson "Tyler, Texas" or L.A. Bank Robbery senario...

Where plenty of Law Enforcement involvement in some degree you may happen upon...Remember, you're not L.E., but it be hard to not feel like you could help in some capacity...And to some degree of risk to do so...

But stranger things can, and have happened to some folks we know...

And it would have to be absolutely crystal clear what you'd be getting into with that type of capability...Because you're going to be accountable in a big way whatever you do...

Until several years ago, I couldn't have imagined someone flying a plane full of people into a building on purpose. The world is an UGLY place and the BG don't always just show up one or two at a time to steal your stuff. Sometimes they showup in big numbers intent on mass destruction. Yes. I know I'm preaching to the choir here (this forum) but I always want the unfair advantage. If it's going to be a gunfight, then I want to have the biggest gun. The Tyler incident could have ended much better if Mr. Wilson had a rifle.

Consider the boy scout concept of being prepared, not looking for trouble.

Another thought that comes to mind here is the shootout in Florida maybe 20 years ago when the LEO were using 9mm and the BG had a 223 rifle (Ruger IIRC). They were out gunned. We saw the training video from that mess. One of the surviving officers said they were out gunned. The stinkin news media reported it quite differently. :(
When LEO, I *ALWAYS* carried a long gun in the car.
It's just standard equipment.

If I only had 2 guns, I want a rifle and a handgun.

Tons of guys over on ar15.com carry rifles in their vehicles. LEO's seem to carry AR's or shotguns in their vehicles. If you're expecting trouble (and you've gotta go), carry a long gun. Nice thing about rifles is no license required (in Texas).

During the evacuation my AR and plenty of ammo was right upfront with me (concealed, like all my handguns, of course).

I agree with the carry the same pistol all the time theme. I know this is not always possible depending on dress and situation. I just feel better prepared using the same pistol day in and day out. I do not have to " think " about what I have on me and what needs to be down to ready the weapon.
