Recommendations on a Glock 27 iwb holster

#1

Post by BigBangSmallBucks »

I'm looking for a good iwb holster for a Glock 27 and the forum search tool has done me no good. What I was originally looking for was an iwb with a magazine pouch but I've given up on that idea because all the ones I've seen (and the one I purchased) have been or looked too bulky. They look more like hip holsters that can be worn iwb(which I wouldn't recommend). What I'm looking for is something that's easily concealed, won't ruin the Glock's finish ,has a magazine pouch and feels good against my skin (soft things make me feel purty). I've had good experiences with the uncle Mike's soft nylon type holsters in the past but the one I have is a bit big (I used it to carry my sig sauer sp2022 before I sold it) and I guess I'm looking for something a little different that'll hold up for at least a couple years. I've given thought to the thinkfast type hosters http://www.thinkfastholsters.com/index. ... r=category and saw a guy post on this forum about one but I don't have enough information on them. And I'm not into the crossbread type holsters (because they look extremely bulky),paddle holsters, anything canted, or anything that's owb concealed. Thanks.

These are my two favorite holsters: http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=95" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and http://www.remoraholsterstore.com/Searc ... =20&page=2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
HOLSTERS MADE WITH NON-SLIP RUBBER OUTER SKIN USED FOR OWB, IWB, OR POCKET CARRY

For the remora I get the non-slip rubber and sometimes wear it on the inside sometimes on the outside.

Do you have any pictures of you wearing the comp-tac? It reminds me of the crossbreed and I fear it might be bulky

I highly recommend Galco Summer Comfort for G27. Not bulky, I like the way the grip sits at the waist, and really like the button straps. I think they're under $100 new, but I got mine sligtly used for $30 on Ebay. I use Pierce +2 extensions and I don't feel any problems with printing or that I have this huge lump on my hip. Very comfortable and easy to remove without having to run the belt through. I plan to order one for my G32 also.

I'm trying out a few handmade kydex with J-hooks, but I don't like the feel of the Kydex IWB. I'll stick to leather. I still haven't convinced myself to try the Crossbreed types, I just don't think they would be comfortable, but if run accross one on the cheap, I may give it a try.

Also, you may like the Desantis or Galco tuckable leather holsters. Small, lightweight, inexpensive, effective. I'm not real crazy about how my Glocks fit, but I have one for my LCR and love it. Nice quick attach clips, so I can grab and go when I'm just running a quick errand.

If there's one thing I've learned this year, it's that you just have to try out various holsters and see what works for you personally. I also learned that I'm not immune to pretty things as I may have to just order me one of those White Hat holsters with the graphics. Isn't Christmas coming soon?

Good luck with your search!

What's your main concern with the kydex iwb? And I'll take all of your suggested holsters into consideration.

A full kydex holster won't have much, if any flex, and just doesn't feel good close to the body. That's just been my experience. A good leather holster will handle moisture/sweat much better.

Looks like a great holster. Too bad you couldn't take advantage of the one that sold in the forum this week for $60. I wish I could have jumped on that one, but don't really have an immediate need. (Plus, I found a hybrid I want to try - get all cute with the grapics).

Thanks, I hope it is. I'll be posting again in a couple weeks to let everyone know how it worked out.

I did take advantage, I've always been a bargain hunter and since I had a need I jumped on that $60 deal. That whitehat is nice (especially the texas flag one) let me know how it works.

This is what I carry everyday (with an undershirt) and I love it. :thumbs2:

I purchased a Tucker Gun Leather IWB "Texas Heritage"...what a comfortable holster and well made. I was carrying my Glock 27/30 in a High Noon IWB Tailgunner but it was too uncomfortable after about 2 hours. The Tucker Texas Heritage is so comfortable and I wear it all day long and really forget that my Glock 30s is IWB.

I would highly recommend Tucker Gunleather Texas Heritage IWB. It by far is the best quality holster I have owned and well worth it. I am a little bit larger than the average at the waistline...6'2" 265 and the Texas Heritage is very very comfortable. :patriot:

Guess this is a late reply but you were asking for a picture of the Comp-Tac holster. Not exactly the same Comp-Tac but close. This was my G27 I used to own in a Comp-Tac CTAC holster.
