If there are no penalties such practices will continue - with the continued attitude by overzealous city government officials that defy what the law says exhibiting an attitude thats insists we'll post em anyway and haul you off to jail if you CHLers enter armed.
There was a bill that had a penalty for this, but it disappeared when the session ended and was not voted on. Any new legislation would have to be introduced in the 2015 session.

This could backfire. I can easily seeing politicians changing the signs making any no gun sign a proper posting. The way the system is now is very confusing to know if it's a proper posting or not.

No, it was written only to put a penalty on a governmental entity that purposly put up a 30.06 sign to try and keep CHL holders out.

My point is politicians could go in and change it all. The system is confusing to everybody as they go to private businesses and the govt trying to figure if it is a "legal" sign. Sure they can add some wording about a govt building but then also change it to require any no gun sign a valid posting.

Not gonna happen. It already says it is invalid on a government building. They would not go back and try to twist it around. If that happened the bill would be withdrawn.
