To start zeroing my VX-R scope on my SIG M400. I ordered a small rail that attaches below the bayonet lug.
Ah, now I have to tap out the front swivel holding pin and replace it with the provided hex screw. I may have to remove the front swivel altogther. ProMag provided 2-fixed sling hooks.

Note: For the photos, you can note that I used a elastic band to keep the rail in place.

BTW,

I guess it is time to hand load some 55 gr 223 rd for my SIG M400. Accuracy with factory load XM193 is like 2"-2.5" at 100 yrds.

I purchased my m400 the week after thanksgiving. Still drooling over it. I chose the SRP model though. Not positive if I should of got the other like yours now though but think I'm going to put the low pro gas block on it and go in with the alpha rail anyways so it won't matter. Mine will eat anything. I put 500+ rounds of steel cased through it Christmas Day. Still not a single problem/failure to date. Still have the cheap 3x optic that came on mine though.

That would work. Or get one slightly longer. I think mine is about 4". Easy to install.

Don't you want the bipod legs folding forward? I had mine folding to the rear on my Bushy 308 but I discovered when shooting from the Harris bipod it was necessary to push forward against the legs to stabilize the gun. Maybe you don't need to worry about that too much with 223/556 calibers though.

I believe that he does have it mounted to fold forward. When the bipod folds forward, the springs are actually on the rear side of the bipod:

Bipod would close forward as they should.

How is the height? Looks like a 6-9" would perhaps put you into a more natural shooting position. Although it could be just perfect for how you shoot i.e. downhill prone or shorter shooting benches.
