Union Square, just a stranger just minding his own business. "May" be a hate crime. The news didn't want to go too far out on a limb.

Man with scissors runs through park in Manhattan stabbing people at random including 2 year old.

Later falls and stabs self in the eye.

Due to his injury, Bloomberg will require all scissors to be preschool plastic kind.

Scissor confiscation begins next week.

But were they assault scissors? Did anyone see if he had used large capacity clips?

The man running with scissors was from Houston.

See the crazies all go to where people are unarmed.

Bloomberg keep it up.

Police beat and bloody 84 year old man over jaywalking (actually crossing at the corner, but against the light, supposedly with other people)

Elderly Asian man pushed the police officer. Bystanders said the man may not have understood why the officer had stopped him and wanted him to remain.

The new mayor has a new program for safe streets.

More reasons to stay away.

Robbers with gun rob a tattoo parlor and rape a customer. Used a female get away driver to lure the shop to open the door.

Oh and apparently the new mayor decided to not snow plow the Upper East Side this morning, figuring the 1 percenters needed to suffer a bit.

And in other news about friendly New York, Gov. Cuomo decided to jab extremists in New York, telling them they are not welcome in New York. An extremist is someone who does not believe in the Assault Weapons ban according to the Gov.

Sean Hannity has decided to leave New York due to the Cuomo's remarks. Rick Perry was on his radio show encouraging him to relocate to Texas.

Officer shoots partner inside their police car, while showing him his gun's hammer. Fails field sobriety test.

Stop the violence in NYC, remove the remaining few legal guns from the City, then NYC can be safe.

Subway riders are being attacked and robbed by Hammer Man. To get you in the proper mood, he hits you twice on the head from behind, then robs you.

More reasons to avoid New York.

I'm guessing that stop and frisk needs to include a hammer search, too.

This rabid dog needs to be caught and put down (legally of course).

Just wear a motorcycle helmet. See, that was easy.

OT
I was carrying my helmet in at work and a coworker asked, "Did you ride your motorcycle today?"

"Nope, just really believe in safety." (Here's your sign) :banghead:

Honestly, do we care what crime against persons goes on in New York, Chicago, Detroit, et al..?

I don't.

They obviously like it being preyed upon or they'd vote in politicians who would allow self-defense.

However, I feel quite happy these Ny'ers and other northern big city folks aren't migrating here (with rare exception) evangelizing their cowardly ways as something noble.

I met one and sure enough he was from New York City. A brash loudmouth. He was quite proud of his unwillingness to defend himself or his family. I wondered about his willingness to sound off so vociferously about it. Perhaps, he's a masochist looking for a peculiar kind of love...maybe the New York's full of them...Afterall, if you defend yourself you're unlikely to be gratified with a beating or worse.

I lived 2 blocks from Union Square as a boy. Proud resident of Texas since 1972. Some people vote with their feet. I may be a brash loudmouth but I don't think we have met yet. Just pulling your leg.
