I would imagine that the gym could ask you not to return, but they can't press charges either.[/quote]

That would be my understanding of the situation that COULD transpire if for whatever reason they noticed your CONCEALED handgun.

This is what I do when I go to the gym. Its a pain, but I have found it to be my only resort.

I drive a company car that gets replaced every 5800 miles, so to me that is about every 3 months. I dont have the option of installing any sort of in car safe/security device.

I feel less chance my locker will be broken into than the car in the parking lot, especially when I go to the gym at night. Lesser of two evils in my case.

No installation required. Easily transportable between vehicles. Also works to secure your gun to anything large and immovable, so long as you can securely loop the cable around it.

Some also use it for airline transport, using the cable to secure it to suitcase struts.

For those interested - Golds Gym has nothing about weapons or firearms in their policies or on the premisis. Carry away....

maybe the link didn't work right for me, it took me to a clip draw. If it was right though, are you saying that you do all of that with a clip draw? I've never tried one myself but just didn't think they would be that secure.

I am baffled I never saw this thread, as I brought this issue up many moons ago here.
What I did was pack my heater in my back pack, or wear it in, hit the head in the locker room, disarm, the replace.

I was concerned about losing my membership, but not getting arrested/ticketed.

I go to the gym 3-5 times a week plus run a bit and go to the pool as well.

I carry a black Kimber Ultra Carry II with a spare magazine or two.

Here is what I do.

If I use a holster, I then disarm in the toilet stall. I hang my backpack on the door, face the toilet, do my thing, then pull the holster with the pistol off my belt and put it in my bag. I then go to my locker and change and then LOCK the bag in my locker.

I then reverse the process when I leave the gym.

--

If have my pistol in my pocket, I then take my pants or shorts off at my locker with my gun pocket nearest to the locker. I hang my pants in the locker and then make sure it is locked up.

--

When I go to the pool, I wear shorts over my suit, with my pistol and extra magazine in my pockets. At the pool, I take my shorts off with the pistol in them and place them with my shirt folded on top, under a chair, with my keys and sunglasses on top.

--

My wallet is always with my pistol - if I put my pistol in my bag, my wallet goes with it. If my pistol stays in my pants, so does my wallet.

--

The safest route is to always disarm in the stall and put your pistol in your bag.

I practiced removing my pants and putting them back on with my pistol in my pockets before I did it in public. In a year, have had it fall out of my pocket just once at the gym when getting dressed and it fell into my locker. I am very careful now about how I grab my pants.

Having a pistol unsecured under a chair while swimming seems like a really bad idea. Someone could easily snatch your stuff, and your pistol along with it. It could also turn into a bad situation if someone cleaning decides to move your stuff and happens upon your weapon.

Is this pool a different place than the gym? If not, I don't see why you wouldn't keep the gun in a locker like the rest of the time.

I would agree if it were a typical public pool.

But the pool is a large lap pool outside. I am usually the only one there. Sometimes there is a couple or two. There are only two entrances and both are a long way from where I set up.

If its crowded, I leave pistol at home or get the wife to go with.
