Did you know you can lay your toaster on its side to make grilled cheese? Or so I've seen.
If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

There are plenty of these moments in my history, but I'm smart enough to not take any pictures so there won't be any proof.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

My friend got back from the emergency room this evening. Needed pliers to open a thermos that had been sitting out with probably juice in it for a long while. Took six stitches to close the gash just above his eye. I sent him this link to cheer him up.

I'm trying to get a mental picture of how that happened but my imagination is failing me. Glad he is ok.philip964 wrote:My friend got back from the emergency room this evening. unfortunately I can picture it pretty clearly. I am glad he's still got his eye though. I probably would have just thrown the thermos away

How did you attach grips to your wife?Sidro wrote:Cut some mesquite to make 1911 grips and not wanting to wait 2 years for it to cure came up with another plan. With the wife gone from the house planed the wood down to grip blanks and stuck these in the microwave several times to dry them. Worked extremely well until she came home and read me the riot act. However nearly 40 years later I still have a beautiful set of grips on the 1911 and the wife. alls well that ends well.

The reason pliers were needed to remove the top was that the liquid inside had fermented causing pressure on the threads, I guess think Champagne. When the last thread was reached the top violently released with great force striking my friend in the eyebrow. The pictures today do not look as good as the ones yesterday with the new stitches. His eye is now swollen shut.SewTexas wrote:jmra wrote:I'm trying to get a mental picture of how that happened but my imagination is failing me.
