I think it's more of a running joke, although many do partake in the "wallywalk". I went to Walmart my first night by coincidence, however I guess technically my first public carry was at Whataburger before picking up a few necessities at Walmart.

I don't think it was my FIRST place carrying but I do recall going soon after I got my license, as it is a decent live-trial.

There was no WallyWalk when I started carrying so if I remember right that knight we were to buy groceries & it was HEB.

I think somebody missed the point of this rite of passage.

They say you never forget your first time but I don't remember where I first carried in Texas outside my home. Maybe because I legally carried in other states without a license before getting my CHL, so my first carry in Texas wasn't so memorable. However, I do remember the first time I carried open in Arizona.
