Wish it was smoother, getting charged $2 extra for what I assumed is website costs and we can't get a step by step update. Guess I shouldn't complain but it can be frustrating to some who have waited well beyond the mandated timeframe

Email received 4-21-14 saying they received all documents

Checked today says background is in process. Will see how long that takes. Clean record

Very strange, at least someone is getting their stuff taken care of in a timely manner

Hi, new to the forum. Completed and mailed everything, sent certified, upon checking I see the mail says last Saturday is scheduled delivery date, and the progress bar is only 3/4 of the way, short of delivered. Before I mailed the three documents, I took fairly decent pictures as proof/back-up. So I spent all day Thursday trying to make the pictures smaller so they could be uploaded, what a pain.

Received my TX Drivers License. April 7th ( lived here 8 years, never needed it!)
Bought a Walther PPQ next day, April 8th
Applied online and paid Close to April 8th
Took CHL cert. class on Saturday April 12th
Went and got FAST prints done. April 15th

Mailed everything out and like stated, supposed to be there on 21st of April, never made it so far.

April 24th managed to upload my back-up copies to the website.
April 25th received an Email stating DPS has indeed received documents pertaining to my CHL application!! WooHoo! It worked! My back-up plan actually saved my butt. Still no word on my actual mailed forms.

I am just stoked to receive that e-mail, especially after reading about some of the delays, just to get that after my missing mailed info, was a big relief. I've never been arrested for anything, other then like no Drivers license ON me when in an accident, so I had to follow the state trooper to jail to sign some waiver or something, pretty minimal, never handcuffed, once but thrown out of court, no lawyer no fees, so I should be OK that route. It did taker like 3 weeks to get an FBI approval to work at schools a few years ago, everyone else got theirs right away, so don't know what hold up was, but I got it.
Good luck to everyone waiting, I know how it feels.
After 1000+ and not a single hiccup with my PPQ, I am finding it harder to want to trade in, when CHL gets here I am buying myself a Kimber Crimson Carry Ultra II, or equivalent. Smaller, bigger punch, superior craftsmanship, they are works of art, but might have to keep this super accurate PPQ ( everyone seems to shoot better groups with it)

I have not received a confirmation email that my docs were received; should I be concerned?

I wouldn't be concerned. It seems like people have been getting the "received" email 2-3 days after submission. I got mine in two days.
Some people see it as a shooting range. I see it as a Second Amendment theme park.

So the nice lady at the DPS said processing could take 30-90 days from receipt of packet. She also stated they are two months back logged. Some mid march applicants are getting updates so it's probably more like 6 weeks back log.

From what I've read on the forum, they will mail it back to you for your signature and then u can either mail it back or resubmit it online. It has set others back a week or so. I submitted my packet on April 2nd and still have no update.
