There are always exceptions to the rule. But if I was a betting man then I am going to go with the odds.VMI77 wrote:That would be a false assumption. I work for a company with hundreds of employees and it explicitly grants CHL holders permission to carry on company property. The company also held a CHL class for employees wanting to get a CHL. I would assume that no matter how pro gun the person is, she will answer no just to avoid the potential liability of officially granting such permission. Besides, every work setting has at least one idiot that can't keep his mouth shut.
I would love for you to be wrong too, but yours is the first I have heard. I haven't heard of this happening in a large company of non-Obama voters either.Embalmo wrote:That would be a false assumption. I would absolutely love to be wrong about not believing that this country is filled with Obama voting employers who host CHL classes for its hundreds of employees.
That isn't my post. I just quoted it incorrectly. I've never heard of a liberal led company that hosts CHL classes.WildBill wrote:I would love for you to be wrong too, but yours is the first I have heard. Please, I'm the one who should apologize because I forgot how to use this forum.WildBill wrote:Now I see that. My apologies.Embalmo wrote:That isn't my post. I just quoted it incorrectly. Oh, I'm not denying that it is exceptional. My only point is that not every employer prohibits carry. I have no idea how many do out of the pool of how many don't. All I'm saying is that in my company, run by a man who fancies himself to be a liberal, it is allowed, and I can't believe we're the only company like that in the state of Texas, when many company heads are probably conservative.Embalmo wrote:That would be a false assumption. I chose to work where I do because it allows me to be with my kids and ensure their safety and well being (I work at my sons school).LAYGO wrote:And that's the gist of all of this. You would be legal to carry without notice, but that doesn't say they can't or won't terminate you.crice8 wrote:But from an employee standpoint I would be breaching my contract and fired.
What's more important? Your safety & well being or a job at a coffee shop?
If I worked at a coffee shop and had not received notice, I would carry.
