I am wondering if there is any specific reasons that this website is not SSL enabled. I think it would be highly advisable that we enable and force users to a SSL encrypted connection.

Why? No confidential information or payment data is collected. You can use the https: route if you like, but you'll get a security warning because I didn't put an SSL certificate on this noncommercial site.

I just asking in general terms of privacy. The more non SSL sites you visit the easier it is to track what you do on the web. Not being paranoid, I promise

Then use one of the many proxy servers available if you are trying to hide footprints.
