One for the ladies and knowledgeables...
I have a .243 and a .22-250 and I'm debating parting with one or the other. Both are bolt action 788's (I believe, the .22-250 is a 788 certain) and I really like them, but can't justify keeping both...well, I can, but I need money.
Anyway, since having acquired my Savage 110 7mm Magnum, I don't use either of the 788's except for my girl to shoot. She's dead accurate with both (it's kind of scarey but that's another story) and neither has anynoteable advantage over the other in cost or effectiveness and neither myself nor Kalee has a preference.
So which is more logical part with?

There's no "C" in "Makenzie"...

I'm having the same issues to deal with...I was thinking of selling a few of the "items" I have that I want to use that money to purchase one or two "new" firearms...
I found the decision easier, when my wife said just keep them all, and we'll figure out a way to wrap around the cost of a "new" firearm...
Absolutely got to love the "transition" my wife is going through...

Couple of things we don't know. Does she deer hunt or strictly targets? What about varments at long...long range? If not now what about in the future? Deer at short to medium range then the .243 is cheeper to shoot (factory or reloads), adaquate for the job, & ammo easier to find as stated above. If long range varmits & long range target then the flat fast 22-250 would seem to be the choice. My .02 for the penny it is worth.
Carry 24-7 or guess right.

My comment was meant to be tongue in cheek, with a smiley, but I missed, sorry. I was kind of playing on your "neither...has a preference."makenzie71 wrote:jimlongley wrote:The one you like less.makenzie71 wrote:...neither has any noteable advantage over the other in cost or effectiveness and neither myself nor Kalee has a preference.
