The article says the Bike Nights are on Thursday nights. The shootings happened this afternoon.

Updated to 9 dead more injured. No word on bystanders, this is horrible.

Yeah, bad juju out there.

The news forums are already full of the "Open Carry caused this" comments

Obviously terrible business, but Open Carry hasn't even been passed yet. Just a bunch of troublemakers looking to make ideological hay out of this.

My wife told me no innocent bystanders were hit. Still have not heard confirmation of that from the news though.

Isn't it interesting that no major "news" network is even mentioning it?

Had it happened in Times Square we wouldn't hear the end of it for months. :biggrinjester:

I turned to the major news channels and it still isn't on. CNN is going on about Rubio and the Iraq war invasion.

I regrettably turned to Twitter and wanted to vomit at all the people demanding the National Guard be called in and "why didn't the police just shoot them... oh wait they were white" comments.

18 people were injured and taken to hospital. My guess is there are likely some innocent bystanders in the injured.

Update:
The police Sgt being interviewed on TV news says no officers or innocent bystanders were injured.

I'm not hearing or seeing anything about OC on this story from Fox, abc or nbc local stations here.

This is a squabble between 2 or more 1% bike clubs. Most of those involved would not be eligible for a CHL

We all know that early news reports get many things wrong, but the link in the OP does say that no LE or others were injured.

We also know how biased the majority of the media are, but unless any of these folks were openly carrying rifles or shotguns I don't see the link to OC. And as Mooneyham pointed out, OC hasn't even passed yet.

There were 8 dead at the scene, 18 transported to two local hospitals were 1 more died. All injuries were limited to the bikers so far. It was two biker gangs. We had been in Frisco this weekend and took an alternate route back due to heavy traffic. When we got back we picked up another couple and went to lunch. The place we went to was across I-35 and a few blocks north. We passed Texas Market Place where the Twin Peaks is at and noticed all the Police presents. We didn't know what was going on until we got to the restaurant and the waitress brought us up to date. A lot of stuff going on around the area right now due to other bikers coming in. My wife and I and the other couple all have our CHLs and were packing. We where never in any danger are anything like that and when we left the restaurant we took a round about way home to avoid the area. It is nice to have a CHL and one should always pack.
