No, but it's unnecessary.

No.

We will have to rely on the 4th Amendment and hope the courts come to the correct decision by agreeing with precedence.

It was Joan Huffman who killed Constitutional Carry in the Texas Senate. It was Joan Huffman who added that stupid "no open carry on college campuses" amendment, and it was Joan Huffman who got rid of this common sense amendment to stop police harassment of open carriers. This is the 3rd strike. Joan Huffman the gun grabber has got to go!

She may not be perfect but I think she's done a respectable job considering.
And the circular firing squad begins!

Huffman has done a commendable job with both hearings held on OC and the one on CC.
That's so frustrating. After watching these hearings, there is no way to honestly label her a "gun grabber". There is a large gap between where she stands and those on the left that don't want anyone to own a gun much less walk around with it.
Liars, slanderers and alarmists are despicable people regardless of the issue and regardless whether they are allegedly on our side. These same people loudly condemn such tactics by anit-gunners.

What are the chances of Campus Carry or Dutton Amendment being added on the full Senate floor?

I'm guessing what you meant by unnecessary.

This was discussed / debated on here when this went through the House. On the one hand you have some saying it would be unconstitutional to stop and ask for a license if no other crime is committed however, like car drivers licenses at DWI checkpoints, if you stop everyone you see carrying in a particular area and not randomly pick out certain individuals, then I think there is case law supporting that activity. Of course IANAL.

It's certainly not necessary in terms of affecting any decision I make on if I would OC or not.

I'd guess 50/50.

None. It was removed to secure passage of HB910 on the floor.

Don't forget that Shawn Northrup won his decision in the Sixth Circuit on May 13th. It does not apply here, and won't unless the City of Toledo Ohio decides to appeal once again, but this one could end up being decided judicially without an amendment.

Texas' opinion is that DUI checkpoints are unconstitutional under the 4A in the US Constitution. That's why we do not have them here.

You can't stop everyone and ask if they have a driver license, that's been found in violation of 4A by SCOTUS.

You never know, but personally, I don't think you will see either of those added in the Senate. I'm no insider, so this is purely speculation, but I beleive that a deal was struck whereby the Senate would pass HB910 and the House would move forward on SB11. We saw both bills start movement within a day or so of each other after being held up for quite some time.

If HB910 and SB11 both pass, I would give this session a B or B- considering the makup of this congress. Had the original HB308 passed, I would have scored it an A+. If all we get is HB910, I would give this session a D+, it's only that high because of the downgrade from an A to a C for 30.06.

I understood that these checkpoints do occur in Texas i.e. outside of Forth Worth. That the justification was that people were not randomly pulled over but everyone passing the checkpoint. I'll accept I am misinformed if that's the case. I either read old info or thought I was reading something on Texas and was not.

So if you are CCing in a 30.07 place and your shirt rides up, have you committed a crime? You did not intentionally fail to conceal but are technically OCing.

And if all we get is SB473 (removing NFA items from the prohibited weapons list if registered pursuant to the NFA), I would give them an F.

Also, how about them knife bills? HB905 and HB3884

Those are important wins for the 2nd Amendment too.
