Recessed/postponed, it's all the same right? My bad.

Then wouldn't the best thing to do is to stop asking him about the amendment, allow him to move to adopt it, then vote it down? Or are we afraid if we tried that tactic that it would actually be adopted?
Re: SB11 & HB910 This week....
I still haven't gotten an answer to my question: even if Huffines pulls down his amendment, what prevents a Democrat from offering the same amendment and they continue to filibuster?

What about Whitmire? As he walked away, he seemed to imply that he's going to come back and do whatever it takes to kill the bill.

I thought his vendetta was against the amendment. Is he out to kill the bill too?Ruark wrote:What about Whitmire? As he walked away, he seemed to imply that he's going to come back and do whatever it takes to kill the bill.

He didn't sound very supportive of the bill in general. Lots of "I voted for concealed carry way back when, I own lots of guns...but" language.Robert91RS wrote:I thought his vendetta was against the amendment. Passing concealed carry was a long time ago, Senator. The baseline for 2A has moved.

Another thing that struck me about some of these performances is how some of these people get up there and then are not able to effectively articulate their positions. Huffines is a good example; he started this big uproar and brought an avalanche of rhetoric down upon himself, then stood there and fumbled and stumbled, obviously in it way over his head. Some of his sentences weren't even coherent. For heaven's sakes, if you can't run with the big dogs, don't get off the porch.

Yes he said he wasnt in support of open carry period, but said he supported and voted for chl but doesnt want open carry. He for sure wants to kill the amendment but also sounded like he would like to kill the whole bill is possibleRobert91RS wrote:

Yep. Huffines is in way over his head and at some point couldn't even pronounce "irrelevant" correctly.Ruark wrote:Another thing that struck me about some of these performances is how some of these people get up there and then are not able to effectively articulate their positions. Oh, no, Whitmire's back with more.....
This is going to drag on all night. He's getting back to the Capitol entry, wearing "badges," etc.
