We're in the same boat with the same person who is obviously the slowest person in the office. I getting bored of seeing "BGC under review." :banghead:
I hear that. I log in and I've actually gotten to the point where I expect it to say "BGC under review" and believe it or not.... I've gotten to the point of only checking once, MAYBE twice a day now.

I don't see why they don't start the local check when the fee is submitted since the affidavits are all online now...

Two words - state agency.

It's been my experience that government does not operate with efficiency in mind.

Yup, I decided to heed that old saying "A watched pot never boils". I resigned to only checking it once a day, but inevitably check it twice a day... once in the morning and once before I leave work.

And a local check that takes 4 weeks is including transmission time is actually pretty good for state offices IMO. Sad, but probably true.

Honestly, I think they might. My wife's application got sent in with a missing ZIP code for a previous employer. They sent the application back to be fixed, she sent it back in, and then like two days after they received it the background check flipped to complete. Maybe if the job had ended up being in a different county it would have been delayed again while they checked there, but it was for the same county as her residences and other jobs.

Yep, that looks just like mine. I make myself check it only once per day, typically in the afternoon.

Looks like Austin is on the ball with my renewal:

1. Applied online 30 MAY 10
2. DPS received 30 JUN 10
3. Background check complete, pending manufacture 13 JUL 10
4. Mailed 15 JUL 10

Charles, the new system is a parsec ahead of what it was 5 years ago ! :tiphat:

Best part is the online signing of the affidavits and no fingerprints and photos.

All I had to submit was the checklist and TRL-100.

I wasn't born in TX, but I got here as fast as I could.

My online status finally showed up today, too, with background check and fingerprints under review. Looks like I'm in the same "landing" pattern as others. I was worried that I was going to get diverted to another airport

I assume that the "under review" status means that what they have is acceptable. Has anyone had their fingerprints rejected from the under review status?

Thanks,

Chas.

Yep. TxRedbone who posted right after you on this thread got his packet to DPS 1 day ahead of me, got status a week ahead of me and has already had his plastic printed and in the mail.

Wasn't there an old song about "what a difference a day makes." :banghead:

Congrats TxRedbone!

I logged in this morning and saw my fingerprints are complete!

To recap, I had had the ink fingerprints rejected for quality. Last Thursday afternoon, I had the FAST fingerprints taken, and this morning status showed complete! That means it was 1 week from submission to clearing. I highly recommend the FAST fingerprints rather than ink cards for anyone who will submit their application. At $9.95 you can't go wrong.

Now I'm just waiting on the background check.
