Donating without membership:

THE NRA site for donate goes to

https://membership.nrahq.org/forms/donate.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

so that's the one I'd trust

You make it sound like there are times when the Constitution is relevant to Glorious Leader: I submit there are not. Collectivists view every aspect of a free Republic as a tool to exploit in its destruction. Today's typical liberal, versus the liberals of my youth, are almost all collectivists. The old liberals actually believed in Constitutional Supremacy...I'm not talking about the "new deal" types here, but the classical liberals back in the time when liberalism meant something entirely different than it does today. To these modern collectivist liberals the Constitution is a tool for dismantling the Republic. As an example, the idea is to take something like the 1st Amendment and exploit it to gain power, and as power is gradually accumulated, dispense with parts of it that consolidate their gains.....political correctness is a prime example of this....we simply are no longer allowed to have a public discourse on certain subjects, no matter how relevant they are to the governance of the country and health of the Republic. Urban crime and illegal immigration are two almost entirely forbidden topics of discussion in public forums.
He seems very concerned about the "pneumbras and emanations" of the constitution that allow for the murder of unborn children. He seems very concerned for the commerce clause and the power to tax that is being illegitimately (IMO) used to permit him and his ilk to shove an unwanted socialist healthcare bill down our throats. So when it is convenient for him he hugs and kisses the constitution when it is not he throws it in the toilet. As a side note, I find it interesting that gun owner are being lectured on respecting life by a president that is perfectly fine with third trimester abortions.

I guess one ray of hope is that Biden is going to lead the charge. He's not proven to be very effective when given the wheel, especially when sound-bites are involved.

i say we go ahead, and let him solve the problem --- in Chicago. Fix gun violence in Chicago, then come back an let the rest of us know your successful solution. The rest of the country will then decide whether the solution is something that will scale nationally, and whether that solution is worth whatever the cost is. But don't experiment with the entire country.

Not that there's a chance in a very fiery place of THAT happening. :grumble

I let my NRA membership lapse. I renewed today.

I also have started carrying consistently. My wife had surgery (rotator cuff) in early September and I quit carrying because I had to escort her into her school every day for about 2 months. It was not worth disarming and leaving the pistol in the car 2-3 times every day. I got out of the habit. Now I am back at it. I do hope that the governor and state legislature will move on making legal for CHL holders to carry anywhere. I spend a fair amount of time at hospitals, nursing homes and schools. I'm one of the good guys and shouldn't have to leave my pistol in the car where it is available to the bad guys.

Thomas,

I had to call the NRA and the very nice lady told me that yes, either you can give them a credit card no. over the phone for the $10.00 membership or she should could mail me the paper work as an alternative to a credit card payment i.e., allowing me to send in a money order, check, etc.for membership

Like you though, I couldn't find the $10.00 membership on the website. I just happen to know about it.

I believe a significant number of folks balk at the $35.00 cost...

In my opinion, the $10.00 membership cost would significantly increase the numbers of those willing to join - if that much lower cost was better known.

Thanks! Renewing my lapsed membership and signing my wife up as well. She's never been a member before due to cost.

Hey guys, supporting the NRA is important. Supporting the Texas State Rifle Association is at least as important!

When I moved to Texas and started getting interested in self-defense and firearms topics, I swore that I'd never join the NRA. All my life I'd heard the horror stories about them, and even today there's things where I can't see myself agreeing with them.

I just joined. My wife just joined.

If they are the front line in the fight to keep my rights, then by God, I am going to support them every way I can.

I know I am new here and only have a couple of posts but I'd love to be sponsored for a lifetime membership. I understand if this is reserved for proven users though.

Also, if one of you are kind enough to sponsor me, could I then sponsor my wife under the same program?
