DPS application fee?

#1

Post by Sidewayz »

I was not aware there were any fees in addition to the fee Im paying for my CHL class. Until a friend said the DPS fee is $150. Can someone please confirm that there is a fee and how much. I didn't see anything about it on the DPS website.

Thanks for the help :???:

Normal fee is $140. There are some who pay less.

Q: How much will a concealed handgun license cost?
A: For most Texans, the license will cost $140. But for senior citizens or indigent Texans, the cost is only $70. For active/honorably retired peace officers or active/retired judicial officers, the cost is $25. For elected felony prosecuting attorneys, fee is waived.

You need to check with your instructor. I am aware of some who include the application fee with the class fee and send in you package for you.
