Feb 2nd IDPA match Houston and more

#1

Post by solaritx »

Just a reminder, West Houston IDPA will be putting on their monthly IDPA match the first Sat of Feb......oh yea, that's this Sat. Start time is 9am

more information: www. whidpa.com

We would like to also "officially" proclaim our first MOUSEGUN/BUG GUN match.

It will be on Feb 24 (sunday) starting at noon. (for those coming some distance and a noon start is "to late", contact me and we can see what we can do about this.....there is a good possibility that some of the SO's might be shooting in the morning)

Divisions: Mouse gun (those little pocket rockets of .25 or above)
Pocket revolver (snub j-frames and the like)
BUG Gun (small back-ups like Officer's 1911, Glock 26, etc)
Regular revolver
Regular Semi-auto

Cost: $16 for first gun / $8.00 for second weapon (time and/or attendence permitting)
One can also buy two "mulligans" for each weapon for $3 apiece. These will be used IF the shooter wishes to reshoot a CoF. If a reshoot is done, it is immediately declared and the reshoot score will be used.

Scenarios: there are 15-16 scenarios with a minimum of 40 + rounds and up to 90+ rounds (depending on how one shoots the scenarios) Threats will be 3yds to approx 10-12 yds.

Each CoF will be limited to 6 FIRED rounds to neutralize all threats (threat number range from 1-5 per CoF)

Neutralize will be 1 scored round in the "0" down OR 2 scored rounds in the "1" down on an IDPA target. FTN=10 second penalty

There will be significantly more No-Shoots to threats than IDPA allows. Hit on No-shoot = 20 seconds per no-shoot hit. (multiple hits on no-shoot will be scored like IDPA)

Use of cover: per IDPA

Scoring: raw time + any FTN + any No-Shoots + any procedurals = time for CoF

There will not be any drawing. Gun will either start in box, on table, etc.......with majority of starts with gun at the low ready. Once gun is cleared by SO (at the end of the CoF) shooter may either holster or place in pocket, etc. Safety will be of primary concern in this area.

We would like to have as many people come as possible. Here is a chance to run those little back-ups in scenarios. We frequently carry them and infrequently shoot them. Find out "if they work, or if you can make them work <g>"

If we can make this an event with significant participation, we would like to not only do this on a regular basis, but maybe even expand this into a "major" event.
